Law Enforcement positions with an annual starting salary range of $69,160 to $83,116 (as of January 1, 2026). Candidates with at least one year of sworn law enforcement experience may qualify for the LCPD Lateral Transfer program which provides additional starting pay and increased vacation based on years of service with other law enforcement agencies. Responsibilities include working as a team member to enforce laws, maintaining the public peace, protecting life and property, and working with the community to address community problems. The La Crosse Police Department serves over 52,000 local residents, 3 college campuses and 2 major health care centers. Patrol Officers generally work a 12 hour schedule (2/2-3/2-2/3 cycle) with a total of 2080 hours worked per year and every other weekend off. This position will be responsible for oversight of one 18-hole course and one 9-hole course, with support from a Golf Course Superintendent 1 based at the 9-hole course. This is advanced-level greenskeeping and planning work on multiple municipal golf courses and involves the performance of a wide variety of greenskeeping functions and responsibility for planning and maintenance activities. The work is characterized by independent judgment in the technical aspects of golf course maintenance. In coordination with the Golf Program Director, this position assists in planning for overall course needs and maintenance activities. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Golf Program Director, or other higher level staff, who reviews the work periodically (through inspection and/or administrative review) for compliance with program objectives. The successful candidate will oversee a large staff of permanent and hourly employees and is expected to independently perform the required functions of the position. The standard work week is 40 hours, with work hours generally falling between 5:00 am and 3:00 pm. Daily start and end times will vary by season depending on business need. Pay increases will occur following the successful completion of 6, 18, 30, and 42 months of employment (or until the maximum step of the pay range is reached), subject to the Compensation Group 16/Range 15 salary schedule.     We are in search of a Youth Sports Coordinator for our seasonal youth sports leagues, including baseball/softball, flag football, volleyball, soccer, and basketball. The Youth Sports Coordinator will act as primary representative of the department on site during league games and events. They will have supervisory responsibility over the officiating staff, coaches, spectators, and participants. The qualified individual should have a strong working knowledge of youth sports and be passionate about creating a positive environment for learning and fair play. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Preseason: Assist with the development of team rosters and schedules, assist in the recruitment and training of volunteer coaches, and paid league staff. * Coordinate team equipment handout and tracking (balls, bats, helmets, uniforms etc). * Coordinate league staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. * Provide ongoing training and expertise to volunteer coaches as needed. * Act as the primary APRD program representative / liaison during league play, providing a high level of personal visibility and customer service. * Communicate professionally with coaches and program participants; respond to inquiries in a timely and helpful manner. * Review and uphold the game rules and program philosophies with staff, coaches, and participants. * Perform set-up and take-down of league related equipment.
