ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST

Clark County is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Administrative Specialist position. This position performs paraprofessional level administrative, operational, procedural, programmatic and/or budgetary and related analysis and support for County sections, divisions and departments or local governmental agencies.

TheClark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examineris seeking to fill the Medical Examiner/Forensic Pathologist position. This office serves Clark County, Nevada, which includes Las Vegas and surrounding urban and rural areas, with a combined population of over 2.4 million people. The office also provides autopsy services to neighbor counties and is dual accredited by the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME) and the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME). With ABMDI-certified investigative staff the office provides 24/7 coverage, and has excellent administrative support, a family counselor, and highly skilled and experienced forensic technicians. The office currently has seven full-time Medical Examiner positions and enjoys the benefits of locum tenens coverage as well. In 2024 there were 21,020 deaths in Clark County and the office was contacted regarding 9,005 of these cases. The office assumed jurisdiction for 6,053 cases and performed 4,008 examinations which included 2,134 autopsies or partial autopsies and 132 child fatalities (under age 18). The office has excellent working relationships with law enforcement, public health, medical facilities, and local medical schools. It also has active consultation services with Forensic Neuropathologists, Forensic Anthropologists, Forensic Odontologists, Radiologists and Genetic Testing.
The successful candidate will:
* Perform autopsies, head posts, and external examinations

What kind of shifts/hours can you expect to work?
We have a range of program hours and do our best to provide scheduling flexibility dependent on your availability and where we need you to work.
* Senior Nutrition programs operate from 4:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional work being available on the weekends for catering orders.
* Annual average of 19 hours per-week (maximum per year 988 hours)
Where will you work?You will work at the Downtown Senior Center or the Heritage Park Senior Facility. We do not provide these services at any other recreation center or facility.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Public Administration, or a related field, AND four (4) years of full-time professional level experience in systems analysis and project leadership in a large multi-processing environment. Demonstrated education and training resulting in an industry-recognized certificate may be substituted for education and/or experience on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years. The Eighth Judicial District Court is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Court Law Clerk position. This role provides support to judicial staff by performing legal research and project coordinationas a law school graduate prior to or after passing the State Bar Exam.
This is a limited scope class, designed to provide practical experience to recent law school graduates as they prepare to take their Bar examinations. Positions may also be filled by individuals who have passed the Bar, but have not yet entered practice. The work will vary, depending upon whether assigned to a legal office or a court, but all assignments are characterized by the necessity for legal research and writing skills within clear guidelines. This class is distinguished from the Legal Research Assistant classes in that the latter are paraprofessional positions specializing in defined legal research and the provision of office support.
This role requires knowledge of methods and techniques of legal research and investigation; judicial procedure and rules of evidence; applicable laws, codes and regulations; computer applications, particularly as related to the performance of legal research; standard office practices and procedures, including filing and the operation of standard office equipment; correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation; techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
