The Team:
One of six unique divisions of the Engineering Bureau is our Program Management Division. The Program Management Division, together with our Project Management Office (PMO), has the high calling of managing what is consistently one of the most extensive capital programs of any port in the nation. The work of the division includes short- and long-range planning and studies to define and program infrastructure needs both internally and with trade-related stakeholders and other agencies; the management of both individual projects and extensive programs from beginning to end; advocacy for authorizations, legislation, and funding with State and federal partners; and managing the Bureau's continuous improvement processes related to project/program delivery.
This is an unclassified (Non-Civil Service) position. Non-career positions typically average 20 hours per week, up to 29 hours a week, for a total of 1600 hours in a year for a maximum of two (2) years. Flexibility is offered within typical business hours. The assignment may end at any time, but under no circumstances will it extend beyond two years.
The Role:
Under general supervision and reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Administrative Intern will support the team planning, coordinating, and tracking project schedules and budgets. The Administrative Intern assists with project management aspects from planning and design through implementation, completion, and close-out, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures to meet the needs of the Port.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at a college or university with status as a junior or senior OR currently enrolled in a Master's degree program. Recent graduates (within the last 12 months at the time of application) are also encouraged to apply.
* A major in Public Administration, Engineering Management, Business Management, Sustainability, or a closely related field is preferred.

Physical Agility Exam Information:
This examination will be held at the Butte County Public Safety Training Center located at 1222 Openshaw Road, Oroville, CA 95965 at 8:00 a.m. This examination consists of the following tasks that MUST be completed within the amount of time specified. Failing any one of the 5 tasks will result in failure for the entire physical agility exam. Each task will be performed separately one person at a time except for the 500 yard run which will be performed in a group. Listed below is a description of the physical agility tasks.
* Solid Wall Obstacle - Five (5) yard run to a six (6) foot high obstacle, and over the obstacle to a twenty-five (25) yard run to the finish. Must finish within 16.6 seconds.
* Chain Link Fence Obstacle - Five (5) yard run to six (6) foot high obstacle, and over the obstacle to a twenty-five (25) yard run to the finish. Must finish within 14.6 seconds.
* Ninety-nine (99) Yard Obstacle Run - Run around a marked course with several angles and then lift yourself over the three (3) foot high hurdle at the end of the run. Must finish within 33.8 seconds.
* Dummy Drag - Drag a dummy weighing approximately 175 pounds across cement for a distance of thirty (30) feet. Must finish within 9.6 seconds.
* Five hundred (500) yard Run - Run around the track five hundred (500) yards. Must finish within 178 seconds.
PelletB Written Exam Information:
The written exam will be held just after the physical agility exam. This exam will be held at Butte County Public Safety Training Center located at 1222 Openshaw Road, Oroville, CA 95965. To prepare for the examination, applicants may visit the POST website for a practice exam. DEFINITION
Under close supervision, incumbent attends a basic academy course of study necessary to gain Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved peace officer status; and to perform related duties as assigned.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
Deputy Sheriff Trainee is an entry-level class into the County law enforcement series. Positions in this class are distinguished from Deputy Sheriff in that the Deputy Sheriff Trainee is a non-sworn class that shall exercise no peace officer powers. Fostering Future Financial Leaders
As the demand for transparency and accountability in government spending and allocation increases, so does the need for accounting professionals with specialized expertise in governmental financial management. The 1649 Accountant Trainee Program, also known as the 1649 Accountant Intern Program, was established to ensure excellence in the City and County of San Francisco's Accountant Series. This program provides trainees with a strong foundation in governmental accounting policies, procedures, and best practices through a blend of workshop training and hands-on experience.
Trainees receive mentorship from experienced accountants and cover essential topics like Peoplesoft Financials, General Ledger, Budget Process, Purchasing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Analysis and Reporting, and Vouchers and Expenses. In addition to technical knowledge, the program enhances communication and presentation skills through workshops and professional development opportunities, including sessions with the Treasurer/Tax Collector, Civil Service Commission, and Office of Public Finance.
Participants are paired with seasoned supervisors and mentors for support and coaching throughout their training, with progress evaluated through regular performance reviews. The 18-month program includes two 9-month rotations in different City departments, preparing trainees for professional-level accounting positions. By the end of the program, participants will have expanded their formal education, gained hands-on experience, developed strong analytical and communication skills, and become proficient with technology and financial information systems.
Upon completing the 18-month program, successful trainees are promoted to the Permanent Civil Service 1652 Accountant II classification. Assignment locations may vary for each rotation and for the 1652 Accountant II placements.

Perform a variety of work in the following fields:
Record and process a variety of accounting data into accounting systems;
Analyze transactions to insure proper recordation;
Prepare and maintain expenditures and budgetary control accounts;
Prepare reports on status of such accounts;
Maintain accounting records relative to payroll accounts, processes rate changes and payroll deductions;
Distribute personnel service costs to appropriate accounts;
Assist in the maintenance of accounting systems;
Reconcile internal departmental records with Controller's and other agency reports;
Process and clear encumbrance documents and vendor payment documents, assists in external reporting projects/requirements as assigned.
The incumbent must be able to communicate all phases of the Accounting Cycle to a variety of audiences clearly and effectively, and they will also perform related duties as assigned.
Overtime may be required.
Make formal presentations to City departments and the Steering Committee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND eighteen (18) semester units or twenty-four (24) quarter units of coursework in Accounting.
Only classes that are 3 units or more will be counted towards coursework requirement. One to two-unit accounting electives will NOT be considered qualifying coursework, and neither will adjacent coursework (e.g. finance, economics, math, QuickBooks/Excel courses).
Desirable Qualifications

Performance Exercise: Qualified candidates who receive a passing score in the written examination may be invited for Performance Exercise. Oral Interview: After completing and passing the performance exercise, candidates will be interviewed and evaluated by the Steering Committee, who will determine final selection in the Program.

Position Duties
The Energy Department is looking to fill two (2) Part-Time Marketing and Communications Graduate Student Intern (Unclassified) position.
The Marketing and Communications Intern'sprimary responsibility will be to assist SJCE with day-to-day communications and improving customer experiences. Projects could include:
* Help maintain and expand SJCE's program webpages (electric vehicles, solar and storage, electric homes, etc.)
* Assist with developing online tools to help customers navigate the electric vehicles, home electrification, and rooftop solar and increase adoption.
* Write clear and engaging content for web pages, blogs, articles, emails, social media and marketing materials.
* Research, coordinate, and attend community events to increase awareness of SJCE programs and services, particularly in diverse communities. Pitch community events for the marketing team to attend, prepare collateral and materials for events, and conduct outreach at events. The intern may be asked to develop an interactive game or activity for SJCE's event booth.
* Organize SJCE's marketing collateral and develop a library of materials that is visible and accessible for department staff and the public.
* Assist with noticing for SJCE programs and improve and streamline processes. This includes drafting letters and emails, developing and refining key messaging, and reviewing data to measure the effectiveness of communications.
* Become a cheerleader for SJCE and CCAs! Connect with colleagues in the field and develop an understanding of industry trends and initiatives.
Additionally, this intern will help support SJCE's ongoing work, including attending meetings, developing marketing collateral, and collecting and analyzing data to improve customer experiences.

Work Schedule:During the academic year, interns are recommended to work 24-40 hours per week, with schedules determined collaboratively between the hiring manager and the intern based on student availability and project needs. APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.

The mission of the Department is to provide students with an understanding of communication processes in a culturally diverse society. This is an unclassified trainee position. Under supervision, incumbents are trained to answer and process all incoming emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, and medical assistance. May be required to provide the public with basic first aid and pre-arrival instructions during medical emergencies following the established Emergency Medical Dispatch* (EMD) protocols. Perform other duties as required.
The Combined Communications Center is a 24-hour facility located at the Police Department. Incumbents must be available to work weekends, holidays, call back, standby, and rotating shifts. The current shifts are: Day Shift 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Evening Shift 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.; and Night Shift 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Shifts are rotated every 6 months.

Do you want to learn field biology skills as well as how to resolve human-wildlife conflicts? The Department of Fish and Wildlife's Northern Region is seeking a motivated individual to assist with the state's growing Gray Wolf conservation program.
This position entails assisting the state wolf biologists in determining the distribution and abundance of Gray Wolves in northern California and with efforts to prevent Gray Wolf conflicts with livestock production. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience working independently and as part of a small team, driving 4-wheel drive and/or all-terrain vehicles, setting up and monitoring trail cameras, surveying for Gray Wolf tracks, scats and other sign, and deploying non-lethal deterrents measures to prevent Gray Wolf conflicts with livestock.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with ground-based surveys to document the distribution and abundance of Gray Wolves, including camera traps, hand-held telemetry, and survey for tracks, scat and other sign.
Assist staff biologists with Gray Wolf capture and telemetry collaring efforts.
Collect, manage and summarize field data, including camera trap videos and biological samples.
Assist with investigations of Gray Wolf sightings and depredations.
Assist with the deployment of non-lethal measures to deter Gray Wolves from livestock areas.

The CIP Team oversees the planning, design, and construction of capital improvement projects for the City. Transportation Team Description

Land Development Team Description
The Land Development Team is responsible for review of development projects for compliance with city standards, ordinances, permits, regulations and statutes. An intern on this team could expect to support staff in gathering data, developing reports, and providing assistance on various projects such as C.3 regulated projects, green infrastructure design guide, stormwater annual report and other projects as needed. The intern will work closely with other engineers, public works inspectors, and interact directly with other agencies and the public.
Duties may include:
* Organize, produce, and maintain records and process forms including reports specific to the stormwater annual report
* Independently prepare and update a variety of forms, guidelines and worksheets relating to
* the Municipal Regional Permit / Stormwater C.3 and C.6 handbooks and green infrastructure ordinance
* Create spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
* Perform field data collection or investigation and analyses
* Check and perform mathematical calculations
* Conduct surveys
* Compile and organize data
* Attend meetings
* Assist in public outreach
Public Administration
Business Services Team
The Business Services is responsible for procurement, budget planning, water billing services, public outreach/marketing needs and administrative support for the Public Works Department.
Duties may include:
* Conduct research to analyze government operations and procedures
* Assist with budget planning and tracking
* Assist with the development of public outreach and marketing materials
* Organize, produce, and maintain records and process forms including reports specific to the administrative needs of the department
* Create spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
* Attend meetings
Minimum Qualifications
Engineering: Applicants must be in the process of earning an undergraduate (junior or senior) or master's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field or within one (1) year after graduation.
Public Administration: Applicants must be in the process of earning an undergraduate (junior or senior) or master's degree in public administration, or a related field or within one (1) year after graduation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Benefits
This is a non-benefited temporary position. Hours of work are flexible and can be designed around course work requirements. There is a possibility for a hybrid work schedule, with some remote work. A temporary employee may not work more than 1000 hours per year (July 1 through June 30) and will receive sick leave in accordance with State Law.

THE POSITION
Under general supervision, receives, screens and responds to incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for police assistance. Dispatches appropriate units, and maintains necessary communication with units, during their response to calls. Performs a variety of clerical, record-keeping and general support duties related to communications activities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Responds diplomatically and tactfully to people of diverse backgrounds, often in adverse situations, when they may be confused, upset, angry, drunk, irate, or irrational.
Willing to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Remains calm and continue working when violent or highly emotional situations are taking place.
Handles multiple tasks at one time, making quick, logical decisions in high-pressure situations.
Has excellent keyboarding, spelling, and data entry skills.
Has prior experience dispatching people and/or vehicles using a radio.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Uses a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) terminal and regular telephone lines to receive emergency calls from the public requesting police services. Determines the nature and location of the emergency, its priority, and dispatches police units as necessary and in accordance with established procedures. Exercises considerable judgment in dispatching deployed units, emergency resources, and equipment. Maintains contacts with all units on assignment. Maintains the status and location of field units.
Monitors emergency alarm panels and city alarms. Monitors city and other camera surveillance systems. Answers non-emergency calls for assistance. Dispatches public works emergency and other "after hours" service requests.
Coordinates emergency calls and relays information and assistance requests involving other law enforcement and firefighting agencies. Provides field personnel with information relating to subjects, vehicles, and property so that they can determine appropriate action to be taken.
Trains new employees in dispatching procedures, techniques, and methods, as well as relevant department policies and regulations.
Enters, updates, and retrieves information from computerized data base networks relating to wanted persons, stolen property, vehicle registration, stolen vehicles, and other information. Assists in the maintenance of communication equipment as required.
Performs other related work as required.

Depending on assignment, possession of a valid California Class C driver's license may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Public Safety Dispatcher Trainee
: A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to completion of high school, keyboarding sufficient to perform the duties of the job, and one year of experience involving public contact, computer usage, or heavy telephone traffic are required. Experience in a dispatching role is preferable.
Public Safety Dispatcher
: In addition to the requirements above, one year of experience equivalent to that of a Public Safety Dispatcher Trainee with the City of Ventura OR one year 911 Dispatcher Operator experience is required.
