SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Solid Waste Supervisor and Solid Waste Crew Chief.
* All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct & Rules of Behavior outlined in chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
* Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
* Drive to and from destinations as assigned by Supervisor.
* Operate large residential refuse collection vehicles (requiring a Commercial License) throughout the City to collect City refuse.
* Must be able to take instruction, direction, and supervision from the Solid Waste Crew Chief.
* Operate heavy-duty hydraulic systems and controls on truck to successfully complete daily duties and tasks.
* Perform maintenance and repair tasks on truck issued each day; grease and lubricate all moving parts; check and replace any necessary fluid.
* Deliver collection vehicles to the transfer station.
* Complete daily duties in allotted time and in a safe manner.
* Assigned route must be kept clean and maintained to meet Division Standards.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide assistance and support to all department programs which effect solid waste collection.
* Pick up and dispose of residential waste as required throughout the City of Mesquite.
* Pick up large items to be disposed of such as furniture.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
EXPERIENCE
No experience is required; however, continuous heavy lifting will be required while performing the three-hour on-the-job assessment if chosen to continue in the selection process.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Must have a valid Class-C driver's license.
Must be able to possess a valid Class-B CDL with an air brake endorsement before the end of your six-month probationary period.
Failure to obtain a Class-B CDL driver's license with an air brake endorsement within six months of employment will result in non-disciplinary termination.

SUPERVISION

Develop equipment maintenance schedules for concession buildings and arrange for repairs according to manufactures recommendations. Assist with training Cashiers in daily cash handling skills in accordance to policy of the City of Pasadena. Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements. Resolve customer complaints alongside the Pool Managers. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
