    Kenosha Transit is seeking bus drivers to work a part-time schedule driving middle and high school students on City shuttle buses during the public school year. Work is performed Monday through Friday. No work is scheduled during weekends, during the summer public school break, established school holidays or when students do not report (teacher workdays). Additional hours ("fill in work") at a higher pay rate may be available to part-time drivers during the school year and/or over established school breaks, but are not mandatory (unless required by Transit Management) nor are these hours guaranteed. Applicants can select any of these schedule options: Split Shift - Drivers are scheduled to work a split shift, Monday through Friday, for two (2) hours in the morning from 6:30am-8:30am and two (2) hours in the afternoon from 2:30pm-4:30pm (approximately 20 hours per week). CDL training is available and reimbursement of CDL testing fee may be provided if employee passes the Wisconsin CDL inspection/skills (road) test and remains employed until end of season. The weekly work schedule for this position is projected to be 1st shift (40 hours) Monday through Friday (except for holidays), although hours may be reduced or modified due to inclement weather, equipment malfunction, emergencies or lack of work. The season typically lasts from now until November although season may be extended based on workload up to the 1500-hour/year limitation. Example of Duties & Responsibilities Under the daily supervision of the Division Director or Supervisor, the following duties are typically performed by thisseasonal position (but are not limited to): * Drives sewer cleaning truck which requires a commercial driver license. * Removes manhole covers to gain access to sewer system. * Operates truck mounted and other sewer flushing/cleaning equipment such as rodder, flusher/vacuum, high pressure nozzle, power winches, pumps, etc. * Unloads debris from truck and refills water supply. * Reads and interprets route maps; locates sewer lines. * Inspects sewer service line and reports problems or emergency situations. * Performs traffic control functions such as placing barricades/cones, signage or other measures to ensure work site safety and to direct/re-route traffic. * Utilizes proper safety measures and personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. * Attends and participates in safety and other KWU mandated training. * Performs daily and routine vehicle or equipment maintenance (e.g., checks and adjusts fuel/fluid levels and tire pressure, cleans nozzles, greases fittings, adjusts belts or cables, cleans truck cab, hand washes vehicle or drives vehicle through washing station). * Operates other hand tools used in general carpentry, construction or maintenance. * Performs general shop maintenance (e.g., sweeps or cleans shop, stocks and organizes equipment and supplies). * May drive heavy equipment or commercial vehicles to job site or to haul gravel, broken concrete, etc. to fill sites. * May drive non-commercial vehicle to/from job site or to pick up/deliver supplies. * May assist with concrete or cold patch repair. * May need to respond to job-site inquiries from citizens regarding work being performed. * May operate hand held and truck radio. * Performs other related physical tasks to assist the Distribution, Engineering or another KWU division with the service and maintenance of water and sewer infrastructure. Assist members of the public in connecting with their government. * Oversee all election processes, including preparation, voting, processing of ballots, canvassing, reporting of results, and post-election audits and other checks. Plan and direct all City elections and supervise the registration of voters. Hire, train, and manage election officials. Ensure the staffing and equipping of each polling location. Ensure each polling location has the training and tools needed to make voting accessible for voters with disabilities. Provide accessible and equitable voting options throughout the City for in-person absentee voting. Work with UW-Madison and community partners to facilitate voting. Manage the security of election equipment, ballots, data, and results. Appoint, train, and support the municipal Board of Canvassers to certify municipal election results. Advise and support the Board of Canvassers for the Madison Metropolitan School District. Collect and analyze data on why eligible voters are unable to cast a ballot or have their ballot counted, and develop solutions to address the barriers identified. Provide court testimony, affidavits, and declarations for state and federal court cases regarding voting rights. Provide technical advice and feedback to the Wisconsin Election Commission. * Direct the issuance of City and County licenses and permits. * Develop and implement the office budget, including assisting the City Clerk in preparing annual budget proposals and monitoring expenditures and identifying resource needs. * Engage in and support public relations activities, including customer relations, media relations, and initiatives such as voter education. * Represent the Clerk's Office before City committees and the Common Council. Participate in intra/inter-agency committee efforts. Attend various professional and civic meetings and present/discuss various programs. * Develop and maintain a high level of awareness of related professional standards and the effective integration of evolving technologies and methods. Maintain awareness of changes in legislation on both the State and Federal levels. * Maintain effective cooperative relationships both internally and with other governmental agencies, including with other local and state election administrators to promote and implement best practices. Provide training and guidance to election administrators in Wisconsin and in other states. Advise national organizations on election best practices. * Compile and complete various reports and records to be submitted to County and State agencies in a timely manner. * Direct the staff and functions of the Clerk's Office in the City Clerk's absence, and as assigned. Represent the City Clerk at various meetings as assigned. * Oversee community outreach and develop education materials. Ensure ongoing maintenance of the agency website and social media content. * Perform related work as required. Minimum Qualifications * Two (2) years of directly related supervisory or team leadership experience incorporating substantive involvement in clerk's office statutory responsibilities. * Bachelor's degree. OR * Four (4) years of directly related supervisory experience incorporating substantive involvement in clerk's office statutory responsibilities. OR * Four (4) years of experience in the following: * Principles and practices of public administration relative to local government. * Governing election law and electoral principles and practices. * Record management principles and practices incorporating appropriate technological applications. * Principles and practices of public/business administration consistent with the management of a city department, including the dynamics of policy development, sustainability, budgeting, resource planning, etc. * Computer software applicable to the duties of the position; and * Two (2) years of experience in the following: * Full range of supervisory principles and practices, labor relations and personnel management.
