Learn more by reviewing our department website page: Who We Are POLICE OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION: This protective service position performs intermediate/difficult work enforcing laws, investigating criminal activity, ensuring public safety, maintaining records and files, testifying in court, preparing reports, and related work as required. Employees in this class are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility, juveniles and staff and counseling residents by modeling and teaching social skills, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution. Duties include providing direct care and supervising residents in a 24-hour 7 day a week (including holidays) facility; performing security checks and managing crises and conflicts as they occur; documentation of daily activities; medication delivery; providing transportation; and assisting residents develop life skills.
