The pro’s of working for the City of Newark is seeing the growth of the City and watching Mayor Ras Baraka first hand create initiatives and replace the narratives of the past.
The con’s are I don’t receive a full benefit package and I don’t get enough time off.
My favorite perk is meeting the people of the City, especially the artist.
What I like best about the CEO is the honesty and flexibility that is provided in the environment.
I would improve the culture by having more meetings. Understanding the structure of the business is important for one to function with the company effectively.
I prepared for the interview by telling the company what I was and had been doing in the City of Newark. Which at that time was running 8 blogs and running a YouTube series.
The compensation is probably and little less than the industry average.
Representation is important among diverse demographics, our companies should reflect our cities and states.
I receive the most joy from people that appreciate the work and share their experiences and thoughts.
