The person in this role will be responsible for driving various types of equipment to and from job sites, transporting crew, and doing routine maintenance on vehicles. Essential functions include but are not limited to: * Operates construction and wastewater system maintenance equipment such as backhoes, jet/vactor cleaners, trenchers, and dump trucks. * Transports heavy equipment, supplies, and materials to job sites. * Performs safety checks, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment and tools. * Assists with loading/unloading materials, job site tasks, and maintaining clean equipment and work areas. * Lifts up to 75 lbs., climbs, stands, pulls, bends, stoops throughout portions of the work day. TREE REMOVAL duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: * Complete grounds maintenance work assignments including removal and pruning of large trees and other visual obstructions and maintaining landscape vegetation, mostly along the city's roadways. * Proficient in the use of specialized pruning equipment such as chainsaws, pole pruners, pole saws. * Team leader of bucket truck crew Set up complex road closures. * Operate and haul a variety of medium to heavy-duty landscape and construction equipment such as chippers, swap body trucks, dump trucks, backhoe/loader, skid steer and combination vehicles. * Proficient in the operation and maintenance of bucket and knuckle boom truck. NOTE: All positions require a Class A Commercial Driver's License or must obtain within six (6) months of hire. There is a $4,000 sign-on bonus for newly hired employees with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for this position.
