To perform law enforcement, investigations and crime prevention work by enforcing state and local laws and regulations; to perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the department. JOB SUMMARY Patrol a designated area of the city in a radio-equipped car, bicycle, motorcycle or on foot as assigned to preserve law and order; discover and prevent the commission of crimes; enforce traffic and other laws and ordinances. Engage in problem solving activities. Answer calls and complaints involving traffic collisions, robberies, assaults, fires, and related misdemeanors and felonies; respond to alarms; investigate complaints; apprehend suspects; search, inspect, transport and take custody of prisoners. Respond to general public service calls including robbery and theft complaints, domestic/civil disturbances, civil complaints, property control and related incidents; may participate in surveillance of area. Secure crime scenes; administer first aid; conduct preliminary and/or follow-up investigations by questioning witnesses and gathering evidence; make arrests of criminal suspects; prepare detailed reports. Under the direct supervision of the 1st Assistant Golf Professional, the Golf Shop Attendant assists in daily golf shop operations including, but not limited to, greeting and checking in guests, merchandising and point of sale tasks, promotion of the facility, and providing information, service, and hospitality to guests. May be required to work early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Conducts prairie dog removal (on irrigated agricultural lands only) using Pressurized Exhaust Rodent Control (PERC) machines. Installs and maintains agricultural fences, gates, and culverts. Maintains/constructs/runs flood irrigation ditches. Conducts invasive tree removal using chainsaws and herbicide applications (cut-stump applications). Collects and sows native seed; installs and waters native plants on restoration sites. Safe and effective operation of tractors, mini-excavators, and skid steers for various land management actions. Safe and effective operation and maintenance of power tools such as weed whips, power augers, PERC machines, and chainsaws. Safe operation of pickup trucks and pull trailers on and off road. Performs surveys and mapping of invasive and noxious plant species using GPS technology and aerial photography. Conducts other agricultural and natural land rehabilitation tasks as required. Maintains detailed records of work completed using asset and data management software. Communicates with team leaders on daily and weekly work plans and project status updates. Assists with project logistics such as methods, equipment needs, time allocation requirements, and use of external resources to accomplish project tasks. Reports all accidents, damage to city property, and/or policy infractions. Understands and comply with all policies, including safety, best practices. Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ability to motivate, lead, and work effectively as a member of formal and informal teams and getting groups to learn and work together. The role will collaborate closely with parks operations and recreation staff to provide excellent customer service to the public and partners. : SEASONAL RECREATION LEAD - SPORTS, EVENTS AND COMMUNITY ACCESS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists Program or Event Coordinator to implement recreation programs, special events or ensure community access which includes the following: Assist in the coordination of the City's recreational programs, which may include programs, leagues, contracted programs, instructional recreation programs, youth outreach, special events, community access to facilities and any other services as needed. Schedule adult and/or youth programs for recreation services or event offerings. Organize and submit marketing plans and community event permits. Provide information to Program Coordinator to inform program's service delivery goals which may include research best practice methods, create program plans, evaluate existing programs to determine how best to meet community recreational needs. Ensure all practical safety measures are observed and city policies and procedures are followed, which includes, but is not limited to the following: Enforce safety standards. Meet all licensing and required certifications as needed. Take proper care of equipment and conduct regular inspections. Monitor events during setup and tear down to ensure compliance with City of Boulder special event policies and park rules. Coordinate with permitted event holders to facilitate equipment check out and facility walkthroughs. Make situational decisions based on sound judgment during scheduled shifts. Serves as the onsite liaison for programs and event permit holders. Complete after-action event reports based on your monitoring and experience. Perform administrative tasks, which includes, but is not limited to the following: Acts as lead worker and facilitates the work of other part-time and seasonal employees. Compile and monitor records and statistics for programs, events, or community access. Utilize Departmental recreation programming software for facility booking, program maintenance, and program registration. May update information on the City weather-line and website for public communication. Meet and communicate with standard staff to schedule program and event offerings based on space availability and changing needs. Support Program Coordinator to organize and submit recreation guide and website information. This includes writing program descriptions and developing marketing content as needed. Support Park Operations and Events staff during community events. Support performance groups, including occasional help with set-up and tear-down of city-owned equipment including but not limited to tables, chairs, tents, temporary event fencing, waste receptacles, signage, and other supplies. Serve as an on-site support staff person in the coordination of performances. Anticipates operational needs and responds to requests and inquiries of performers and contracted suppliers as directed or appropriate. Provide excellent internal and external customer service during performances. Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the Boulder Bandshell in relation to performance support. Includes but not limited to but not limited to trash/litter removal, graffiti/vandalism removal and repair, and other minor structure repairs. Experience working with recreation software. Well-rounded experience coordinating community recreational programs for youth and adults. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English.
