City of O'Fallon company history timeline
He built a railroad depot in 1855 on his land, naming it O'Fallon Depot after his friend, John O'Fallon who was the President of the railroad board of directors.
Nicholas built the first home in 1856 and operated a store out of it.
The town O’Fallon was founded in 1856 by Nicolas Krekel and his brother Arnold.
In 1912, O'Fallon incorporated with about 600 residents.
By 1956, O'Fallon's population had grown to 1,357.
