Duties: Answers phone calls from citizens, assists customers at front desk with incoming and outgoing animals, pet adoptions, issues animal license, cares for sheltered animals and maintains shelter records. Duties: The Lifeguard Instructor is responsible for the instruction, leadership, supervision, control, and safety of all class participants. The lifeguard instructor is responsible for the appearance, presentation, and working order of all materials and equipment used for lifeguard instruction. It is the lifeguard instructor's responsibility to observe and direct all class participants, and to provide feedback and appropriate correction as instructed or included in the job description. The Lifeguard Instructor position is a year-round part-time position with the City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department that cannot work more than 999 hours per calendar year. Plans and organizes personal class teaching outlines, methods and goals that support the general teaching outlines provided by the American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR programs. Assists with the training and management of all pool managers ensuring they are meeting departmental standards. Ensures all lifeguards are being audited on a monthly basis and documented in the HydroApps software. Plans and leads all in-service trainings during the summer and ensures documentation in HydroApps software. Ability to adapt your teaching approach to match the experience and abilities of the participants. Organizes and directs activities of assigned participants in order to provide a high level of quality instruction for all students. Ensures all class students are registered and on the class roster prior to beginning class. Completes and submits records and documentation of completed classes to the Aquatics supervisor and American Red Cross office. Duties: The Concession Manager is responsible for ensuring the Concession area is in compliance with all Safe Food Handling Practices as laid out in the City of Pasadena Concession Policies and Procedures in accordance with the City of Pasadena Health Department and Texas Food Establishment Rules. A food manager must be present at all hours of the operation. The Concession Manager is also responsible for Ride Attendants and communicating the reservation schedule of cabanas/ umbrellas and party rooms to the pool staff. The Concession Manager position is a seasonal position with the City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department. Assists with Interviewing and hiring personnel to work in Concession Area at Strawberry Water Park if available. Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performances to increase service quality and enhance job safety. Ensure receipts are compiled at the end of the day or shift and balance. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards. Ensure concession facilities and workers are in compliance with Federal, State, and Local Health Codes. Concession facilities should be well maintained throughout the year then prepped, operated and partially shut down after the swim season (May-August). Assist with preparing food orders from vendors including paper goods, food goods, CO2, etc. and ensuring delivery tickets are given to Aquatics Office for payment. Keep track of all food establishment records including but not limited to daily temperature logs, certifications, waste forms, etc. Specify food portions and courses, production and time sequences, and workstation and equipment arrangements. Control inventories for concession food, equipment, small wares, and report any currency shortages to designated office personnel. Analyze operations problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems. Develop equipment maintenance schedules for concession buildings and arrange for repairs according to manufactures recommendations. Assist with training Cashiers in daily cash handling skills in accordance to policy of the City of Pasadena. Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements. Resolve customer complaints alongside the Pool Managers. Opens museum grounds and buildings at designated hours, greets visitors, and invites visitors to sign guest register. Answers telephone queries. Monitors visitors viewing exhibits, cautions persons not complying with museum regulations, distributes promotional materials, and answers questions concerning exhibits, regulations, and facilities. Arranges tours of facility for families, schools or other groups, as well as individuals. May prepare material for the exhibits.
