    City of Pearland / Visit Pearland - Arts Administrator Visit Pearland is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Pearland with a primary focus of promoting and marketing the City as a destination to attract visitors. Visit Pearland recently led the development of the City's first Cultural Arts Master Plan and is a lead agency in its implementation. The Arts Administrator position is called for in the cultural plan to build greater capacity, leadership and connection for Pearland's Arts & Culture. The Arts Administrator will manage the existing arts programming at Visit Pearland and help develop new and expanded programs in alignment with the cultural plan. This position will work alongside Visit Pearland staff, who have been an integral part of existing arts programs, such as the Pear-Scape Trail public art program, arts, and cultural events, and the cultural arts grant program. Responsibilities The Arts Administrator position will encompass the following responsibilities: * Serving as the lead staff person for the City's cultural arts programs and investments, under the direction of the Visit Pearland Executive Director. * Plan and curate arts and cultural events and programs intended to increase cultural tourism in the city. Oversee sponsorship and grant-funded requirements for arts and cultural events supported by Visit Pearland. * Oversee implementation of the City's public art program, including the PearScape Program, utility box program, and new public art initiatives arising from the recommendations in the Cultural Arts Master Plan. Oversight of public art may include engaging a contractor with specific public art qualifications to manage that program. * Manage the cultural arts grants sponsorship program administration. * Assist with the Visit Pearland marketing efforts for arts and culture as needed. * Interface with the community's arts and culture community. * Liaise with other City departments to support coordination of efforts in the cultural arts. * Participate in professional development opportunities related to the responsibilities of this position. * Other responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director and/or related to implementation of the Cultural Arts Master Plan. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience * Minimum of three years' experience managing and planning the administrative aspects of arts and cultural programming. * Experience in some combination of the following: managing cultural tourism events, grantmaking, public art, and/or marketing. * Stronger interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Ability to work in a team environment with a collaborative approach. * Strong organizational skills with a keen focus on meeting deadlines and budget requirements. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, including business correspondence, public speaking, instruction, and leading small groups. * Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage diverse activities, and advance multiple projects concurrently. * Strong and current general knowledge of the arts and culture field. * Social media skills * Fluency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite. * Preferred experience in local government. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR Job Summary In this position, you will receive calls for service from citizens regarding police emergencies, fire, EMS, and other City services. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring radio channels, answering incoming calls to 911, and dispatching communications to the appropriate units. HOURS: 12-hour shifts - must be available to work any shift required. Shifts will be 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 6:00. m. to 6:00 a.m. and this will include working on weekends and holidays. Essential Functions: Manages all radio traffic on multiple channels; dispatches calls; gives in-progress updates for emergencies; checks status of wanted people, stolen articles, and vehicles; enters and manages computer-free motorcycle units. Answers in-progress emergency 911 calls by managing irrational or hysterical callers while extracting safety and suspect information; makes critical decisions for time-sensitive situations; prioritizes answering above all other operations. IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Processes crime scenes by taking photographs, scanning/video recording scenes, prepare scene sketches, collecting, preserving, logging, packaging and inventorying evidence, and preparing detailed reports. Analyzes and evaluates latent fingerprints; conducts fingerprint comparisons. Utilizes the Leica RTC360 scanner to map crime scenes and produce a deliverable file of the mapped crime scene. Handle and operate firearms in a safe manner. Mixes and uses chemicals to process evidence; use alternate light sources to locate latent prints, serological, biological fluids and trace evidence. Operates the AFIX Tracker database and the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) to develop candidate lists for comparisons to latent prints. Reviews lab reports. Reconstructs major crime scenes using advanced forensic techniques such as blood spatter interpretation, shooting trajectory, etc. Testifies in court as an expert witness regarding crime scene processing and fingerprint comparisons. Responds to crime scenes and emergency situations during regular work hours, evenings and weekends. Maintains laboratory supplies for the Forensic Unit and ensures the lab and equipment are clean and functional. Ensures all divisions in the police department have an adequate supply of crime scene processing materials to ensure evidence is processed and lab requests are completed in a timely manner. Operates a motor vehicle to travel to attend trainings, meetings, conferences, and court cases.     Under general supervision, the Summer Camp Director oversees the daily operations of Summer Adventure Camp and is responsible for the overall management of the Summer Camp program as well as planning, organizing, and supervising daily activities of their assigned group. Specifically, this position is responsible for personnel management, program development and ensuring all safety protocols and camp objectives are being met. In addition, this position will be instrumental in ensuring all camp activities and staff adhere to the adopted Youth Standards of Care. The Summer Camp Director will assist the Recreation Center Supervisor with the hiring and training of Summer Camp staff. This individual will communicate with campers, parents/guardians, Summer Camp Leaders, and Summer Camp Coordinators on a daily basis. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conducts camp orientation and training prior to the start of the program, conducts camp staff meetings as required, assists with parent communication regarding any part of the camp operation, and is responsible for the overall performance of all camp staff. * Provides timely guidance/feedback/evaluation for all staff, including end of season staff evaluations, evaluates the current season, makes suggestions for the following season, and provides suggestions on necessary changes to camp policy and procedures. * Supervises the overall management of the camp program, to include but not limited to; personnel management such as staffing to ensure all camps are adequately supervised to department standards, program development, and health and safety management in accordance with City of Euless safety protocols and policies. * Plans, coordinates, leads, and gives direction to staff in order to accomplish daily activities for youth with Summer Camp Leaders, which includes the supervisions of staff and campers. * Accompanies youth on field trips, transports youth in vans to various activity sites. * Directly responsible for ensuring that camp staff is aware of and following all safety protocols including but not limited to all necessary paperwork, head count checks, incident/accident reports, etc. as well as ensuring staff confidence in handling any logistical issues, and ensures that the Recreation Coordinator is notified of any accidents/incidents. * Participate in cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment * Performs other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: * Knowledge of planning and coordinating daily activities. * Skill in dealing effectively and efficiently with youth. * Ability to safely drive a city vehicle including vans and trucks. * Ability to operate a printer, radio and public address systems, cellular phones, copier, calculator, PC computer. * Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. * Ability to work alone, or with minimal supervision and be a self-starter. * Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance as well as neat personal appearance. * Ability to observe camper and staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques. * Ability to assist campers in an emergency and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers. * Ability to address crisis management, discipline and troubleshooting issues related to campers and/or staff. * Ability to fill the role of Summer Camp Leader as needed. * Ability to interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Associates degree (2 years of college), preferably in the field of education, parks and recreation, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience working with children is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be at least 21 years of age and must possess a valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record. Must be CPR certified or obtain certification prior to start of camp. Experience working with children is a must. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching are required. Repetitive movement of wrist and fingers during computer data input is required. Occasional lifting loads up to 55 lbs.; carrying 45 lbs. up to 50 feet; pushing/pulling 55 lbs.; gripping/rotating hand tools; stair/step climbing; Ability to work outside, in inclement weather, including heat and humidity, for multiple hours with few breaks.
