Swing Shift: Saturday (8 AM to 4 PM); Sunday-Monday (off); Tues-Wed (12 AM to 8 AM); Thurs-Fri (4 PM to 12 AM) Responsible for the safe operation of the Water Treatment Plant, providing biologically and chemically safe water for human consumption.
Major Responsibilities:
Operates equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption,
industrial use, and fire protection.
Collects representative water samples from the plant and performs chemical,
physical, and bacteriological tests to assure water quality; submits samples for
testing as required.
Determines and adds specified amounts of chemicals, such as chlorine, to
disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water.
Calibrates equipment and adjusts chemical feeders for optimal treated water
output.
Monitors computers, charts, dials, pumps, chemical feeders, laboratory
equipment, meters, and gauges to determine status of various plant functions.
Reads and records chemical usage; fills chemical feeders; mixes chemicals;
changes reagents.
Maintains filing system of operations and maintenance reports.
Checks motors and pumps for excessive noise and temperatures.
Ensures water treatment plant is safe and secure.
Performs plant maintenance, grounds keeping, and housekeeping duties.
Adjusts output to meet demands.
Removes sludge from settling basin.
Available to be reached during off hours in the event of an emergency.
Available for shift work as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as
required.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge:
High school graduate or GED
Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
Possession of a valid Class D Driver's License issued by the State of
Oklahoma
Class "D" ODEQ Waterworks Operator certification, or ability to obtain
within 6 months of hire

About this Position
The Safety Specialist helps develop, implement, and administer the City's Safety and Risk Management Program. Police Officer Screening and Selection Examination (POSSE)

candidates' expense. If an official offer of employment is made to the

Minimum Requirements

About the Position
The Field Services Maintenance Apprentice is a heavy labor, mechanical-based position to maintain the City's streets, water distribution systems, and wastewater distribution/collection systems. This position is for anyone who is willing to learn and wants to do a good job with a good attitude. Apprentices have a 4-day workweek with 10-hour days and a working lunch period. They may be asked to work on-call, and there are opportunities for overtime.
Upon hire, the Field Services Maintenance Apprentice will be enrolled in the United States' Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program. Once they complete one year of service and obtain the required skills, they will be reclassified as a
Technician I
and obtain a higher salary grade. (To date, the City of Edmond is the only municipality that can provide a distinguished DOL Journeyman Certification to Field Service professionals who have passed the Technician-I level.) This progression continues with completed training and years of service to advance to the higher levels in the program. The ability to earn higher pay is directly proportional to progressing through the levels of expertise with demonstrated proficiency.
Options Pay:
Additional pay may be earned by obtaining identified job-related certifications, as approved and coordinated through the Field Services Superintendent or his designee. This is a flat amount added to your paycheck on a monthly basis.
Apprentices will shadow and assist their team until they can perform work with minimal supervision. A new hire is on probation for a full year, with performance evaluations completed at six months and at the end of the probation period. As a

Street

Under the general supervision of the Police Chief and patrols city limits in a special marked vehicle or on foot for the purpose of enforcing animal control violations. Work is performed within established procedures, but requires some independent judgment in interpreting and enforcing violations. Work is reviewed by a supervisor through observation, results achieved and activity reports. Work hours are assigned by supervisors within departmental regulations.
Essential Functions:
Patrol streets to capture stray animals which are running at large and transport them to the city animal shelter.
Investigate citizen's complaints relating to animal ordinance violations, including but not limited to, dogs running at large, bites (vicious animals), property damage and injuries caused by animals.
Report and apprehend vicious or unruly animals and remove dead and injured animals from the streets and sometimes residential premises.
Issue citations in violation of animal ordinances within Section 92 in the City of Claremore Ordinances.
May be required to testify in court.
Care for, feed, water all housed animals at the animal shelter, and adopt to citizens, when possible, those animals that are at the shelter.
Provide maintenance and upkeep for the animal shelter and maintain supplies for shelter.
Provide medical care for sick animals, within reasonable resources available at the shelter
Maintain records including adoptions, city registrations, and all included shelter paperwork in the scope of public and shelter animal documentation. Log all incidents concerning animal control as well as maintaining legal records in concern to calls and reports.
Daily use of computer utilizing Shelter and Police software programs.
Communicate with the public, building positive relations with public awareness of ordinances regarding animal control and humane treatment of animals.
Maintain normal availability by radio or telephone for call out or consultation on emergencies.
Maintain departmental equipment, supplies and facilities.
Ensure use of personal safety equipment to prevent injury to animals or self, i.e. gloves, mask, night stick or traps.
Determine animals to be euthanized and communicate to assisting staff. Follow established protocol as determined by the OK Veterinary Board to include post euthanasia activities and documentation.
Eliminate animals by euthanasia
Responsible for proper disposal of animal carcasses.

Relay field data collected to engineering and GIS technicians.
Understand and inspect stormwater pollution prevention controls and components as necessary.
