The Tacoma Police Department will be giving hiring priority to in-state lateral candidates for any immediate vacancies. Qualified out-of-state candidates will be placed on an eligible list for interview and hiring consideration and may be considered for subsequent vacancies. At this time the Tacoma Police Department is placing out-of-state lateral candidates at step 4 ($59.55)* in the hiring range; in-state laterals will be placed at step 5 ($62.53)* in the range. As part of this mission, we are seeking a Data Strategist to support the Office of Labor Standards (OLS) policy team and other teams in their data strategy and analysis needs. Specifically, you will work with the Policy Manager and policy analysts to identify metrics and data sources to analyze the impact of existing and prospective labor standards laws. You will have a focus on two recent Seattle ordinances that regulate certain companies in the "gig economy." These ordinances-the App-based Worker Minimum Payment Ordinance (ABWMP) and the App-based Worker Deactivation Rights Ordinance (ABWDRO) require minimum pay for workers, as well as offering deactivation and transparency protections. They also require that the companies affirmatively produce data to OLS that will allow the department to understand the trends and policy impacts of these two ordinances. You will be the subject matter expert on this affirmative data production program, including managing data intake, quality control and analysis, as well as making recommendations for best practices regarding the same. You will work with regulated companies to ensure accurate and timely data transmissions, perform data cleaning and quality checks, and coordinate resubmission of corrected data. Further, you will advise on and support, in coordination with IT, data housing, data architecture, and building/maintaining required dashboards. Additionally, you will support data analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, and visualization needs to better understand the trends and impacts of the ABWMP and ABWDRO ordinances. Thirteen cities contract with King County for court services provided by KCDC. Position Summary King County District Court is seeking applicants for a Probation Officer position. Probation Officer is responsible for managing a caseload of misdemeanant offenders and monitoring compliance with probation conditions as directed by the General Administrative Order (GAO), conducting in-depth interviews with misdemeanant offenders, and assessing problem areas which may include alcohol, other drugs, and domestic violence and mental illness issues. Other responsibilities also include, but are not limited to writing pre-sentence reports, sending reports and/or appearing in court to address compliance issues, and regular interaction with Judges. A successful candidate for Probation Officer will be able to work independently while taking directions from supervisors and judges, de-escalate stressful situations, respectfully exercise authority, and be assertive in challenging circumstances. A successful candidate for Probation Officer will also be able to communicate effectively with a diverse population, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and manage a caseload with a fully electronic case management system with no paper files.     Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation's largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle's electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. The position is on the Science Policy team within the Environment, Land, and Licensing Division. This team is responsible for a variety of environmental policy review, development, and implementation for the utility, which includes leading the utility's greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and neutrality efforts. In 2005, Seattle City Light became the first electric utility in the country to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions. We have maintained that carbon neutral status every year since. This position is supervised by the Climate Mitigation Strategic Advisor and will help lead the utility in its effort to eliminate GHG emissions and comply with evolving local, regional, and national GHG regulations. This position will work with internal and external stakeholders to collect information and collaborate on solutions. The role is also responsible for supporting the identification and implementation of improvements to reporting systems and procedures to increase the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of emissions inventories and reductions. In addition, this position will help monitor, evaluate, and advise on proposed policy changes related to GHG reporting and management. * Manage climate mitigation program data, including information that supports the development of City Light's GHG inventories. * Prepare and submit reports as required by various entities (e.g., The Climate Registry, Environmental Protection Agency, Washington Department of Ecology, etc.). * Collaborate with and provide training and support to staff and other applicable stakeholders, as needed, to support the given reporting program needs. This would include site-visits. * Manage research projects, contracts for various technical studies with academic institutions, government agencies, and consulting firms as needed. This work includes identifying contractors, developing the scopes of work, managing budgets, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables. * Address internal and external questions about climate mitigation work, as needed. * Identify and implement improvements to reporting systems and/or tools. * Update applicable GHG Management and/or Monitoring Plans with updates and/or improvements to procedures, as needed. * Stay current on science and policies relating to climate mitigation and provide review and input on policy-related matters. * Represent City Light's work in various public forums. This work sometimes includes, but is not limited to, preparing and delivering presentations at scientific/industry conferences, workshops, and public meetings. * Supervise and mentor college or high school interns, as needed. * Other duties, as assigned. Required Qualifications: In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has: Education: Bachelor's degree in natural or physical sciences, environmental sciences, planning (with emphasis on environmental issues), public administration/policy (with emphasis on natural resources), or related field. Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in environmental research, environmental law, impact analysis, environmental compliance, toxic substance management, or a related field.
