As part of this mission, we are seeking a Data Strategist to support the Office of Labor Standards (OLS) policy team and other teams in their data strategy and analysis needs. Specifically, you will work with the Policy Manager and policy analysts to identify metrics and data sources to analyze the impact of existing and prospective labor standards laws.
You will have a focus on two recent Seattle ordinances that regulate certain companies in the "gig economy." These ordinances-the App-based Worker Minimum Payment Ordinance (ABWMP) and the App-based Worker Deactivation Rights Ordinance (ABWDRO) require minimum pay for workers, as well as offering deactivation and transparency protections. They also require that the companies affirmatively produce data to OLS that will allow the department to understand the trends and policy impacts of these two ordinances. You will be the subject matter expert on this affirmative data production program, including managing data intake, quality control and analysis, as well as making recommendations for best practices regarding the same. You will work with regulated companies to ensure accurate and timely data transmissions, perform data cleaning and quality checks, and coordinate resubmission of corrected data. Further, you will advise on and support, in coordination with IT, data housing, data architecture, and building/maintaining required dashboards. Additionally, you will support data analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, and visualization needs to better understand the trends and impacts of the ABWMP and ABWDRO ordinances.
You will consult with and advise the Policy Manager or designee regarding the collection, management, and analysis of data for policy development and analysis purposes. Your duties will include:
* Supporting data analysis needs to better understand trends and impacts from the ABWMP and ABWDRO ordinances, including but not limited to: descriptive statistics on average earnings, working time, spatial analyses on origin/destination of delivery work, analysis of work trends and distributions, comparative analyses using the above factors and external data sets such as census demographic data.
* Recommending best practices for data collection, cleaning, and analysis (statistical and data) to OLS Policy Manager and Director for labor standards policy development and analysis.
* Working with the companies required to produce data to ensure timely, accurate, and complete data submissions according to legal requirements, including coordinating the data intake, quality control, resubmission, cleaning, and analysis.
* Analyzing and creating tools to understand and draw conclusions and meaning from produced data, including presentations, dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools.
* Providing input on administrative rules or ordinance language for data implementation, production, analysis, governance, and policy to OLS Policy Manager and Director.

Job Summary

The Capital Projects Division has a great opportunity for a Senior Project Controls Analyst (Capital Projects Coordinator, Sr.). In this critical role you will be responsible for ensuring key information associated with capital projects, such as schedule, cost, scope, and risks, are documented, monitored, and updated. Seattle City Light is looking for skilled journey level Machinists to join the team at our South Service Center in Seattle. These Machinists will perform maintenance and repair hydroelectric generation and distribution equipment. Advanced knowledge of machinist skills is required as well as the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. These roles will also fabricate and design parts, equipment and or machinery according to National Electric Code and NEMA Standards using lathes, mills, radial drill presses, sharpers and other machine shop equipment. Assignments at remote facilities conduct preventative maintenance, overhauls, and capital improvement projects of hydro-generators, turbines, and associated machinery at hydroelectric facilities. This position reports to the Hydroelectric Maintenance Machinist Crew Chief.
* Conducts preventive maintenance and overhaul of hydroelectric generators, adjusts and/or inspects hydroelectric generators, turbines, hydroelectric governors or associated auxiliary equipment including shaft alignment, vectors, Babbitt bearings, slug arc adjustment and electronic micrometer readings.
* Diagnoses and repairs malfunctioning powerhouse facility equipment.
* Repairs malfunctioning tools and portable equipment.
* Fabricates and manufactures parts and equipment such as turbine seal rings, bushings, shafts, intake gate chains, wheel guides and thrust bearings.
* Inspects work performed by outside contractors to ensure product specifications and quality.
* Prepare written reports, including activity reports and repair procedures.
* Maintains all overhead cranes and rigging equipment to W.I.S.H.A. standards.
* Functions as a rigger and/or crane operator for moving, installing and transporting heavy machinery.

The Criminal Division represents the City in prosecuting misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, and traffic infractions in Seattle Municipal Court, including driving under the influence, domestic violence, theft, assault, property damage, and trespassing. Prosecutors rotate through units dedicated to reviewing incident reports and filing cases, trials, and domestic violence cases. Opportunities also exist for prosecutors to work in therapeutic courts - Mental Health Court and Veterans Treatment Court. All prosecutors assist in formulating and implementing policies to promote racial and social justice equity, including developing potential alternatives to incarceration for criminal offenders.
* Represents the City Attorney in prosecuting misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal offenses and probation violations; learns prosecutorial techniques and strategies; meets competing deadlines; and develops trial skills in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
* Reviews citations, arrest sheets, and other law enforcement documents; gathers facts and data; conducts factual and legal analysis to determine whether charges should be filed.
* Drafts complaints, briefs, motions, memorandum of law, and other legal documents.
* Manages assigned cases in accordance with standard protocols and procedures; confers with witnesses and crime victims; negotiates plea agreements with defense counsel within established guidelines; develops trial and prosecution strategy for supervisor approval.
* Coordinates with members of the Seattle Police Department and members of other law enforcement agencies, and other involved parties to establish and verify the basis for prosecution or dismissal.
* Represents the City of Seattle at arraignments, hearings and trials; compiles records and other information; identifies witnesses for subpoena; brings cases before the court and argues facts of the case in relation to points of law, case law and legal precedent; interviews and cross-examines witnesses.
* Assists city prosecutors in preparing complex misdemeanor arraignments, motions, pleas, and hearings.
* Adheres to a high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
This position requires membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association, OR the ability to complete the process of obtaining membership within 30 days of an offer of employment, OR being a Rule 9 Licensed Legal Intern awaiting Washington State Bar Examination results. Continued employment for Rule 9 candidates is contingent on passing the Washington State Bar Examination and becoming a member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association within six months of beginning employment.

Job Summary
The role of the Senior Transportation Engineer is to provide project management and senior level technical traffic and transportation engineering services. The Senior Transportation Engineer completes and oversees a variety of professional engineering assignments involving traffic signals, signs and markings, development review, operations analysis, traffic safety analysis, traffic data collection, and evaluation of transportation alternatives. Distinguishing Characteristics: This is the senior-level classification in the Transportation Engineer series. The Senior Transportation Engineer is a technical expert and handles the most complex and difficult assignments outside of the Transportation Engineering Supervisor and Transportation Manager. The Senior Transportation Engineer is a resource to other employees and works under limited supervision, with the Transportation Engineering Supervisor setting overall objectives.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

This position may require climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling. This position encounters foot hazards as defined by the WAC, which may include any of the following: falling objects, rolling objects, piercing/cutting injuries, or electrical hazards. Evening meeting attendance is required periodically.

The City of Tukwila is in search of a UtilitiesProject Manager.Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager for Utilities and the City Engineer, the Utilities Project Manager performs professional level project management activities and coordinates all aspects of large, complex capital improvement projects. This new role will increase the capacity of the Public Works Engineering Division and will focus on delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective water, wastewater, and stormwater utility services.

* Manage consultant and construction contracts in compliance with Washington state procurement laws.
* Coordinate with other project managers, other local utilities and regional service providers to understand utility system conflicts, long-range plans, and customer impacts.
