PAY, HIRING BONUS, AND MOVING ALLOWANCE The City of Yuma follows a 10-step pay plan ranging from $30.1539 - $42.4903 per hour. Salary and compensation are subject to agency discretion and may vary based on factors such as candidate qualifications, internal equity, and applicable policies and pay scales. The offered amount will be determined by those factors. There is a sign on bonus up to $10,000 payable over the course of a two-year period. The sign on bonus amount is determined by the applicant's years of service as a certified Police Officer. In addition, any new hire that relocates to the City of Yuma from outside the region will be eligible for a moving allowance of up to $2,000 to cover the costs of relocation. Repairs dirt roads by filling potholes and removing obstacles and hazardous material roads. * Operates loaders, excavators, or haul trucks to load and move cover material from clear section to the area of refuse needing cover. Operates water trucks and wagons to maintain roads, working areas, and the landfill lift to control dust and minimize fire hazards. * Stays alert to the commercial and residential vehicles and customers driving in the area nearby to reduce potential accidents. Athletic/Sports Field Maintenance Assignment: Employees assigned to athletic/sports field maintenance perform construction, maintenance, repair, field game preparation, and related service activities for the athletic fields including a variety of tasks in general trades and/or skilled maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of facilities, fixtures, and irrigation systems. Duties include: possibly inspecting play facilities and other equipment; independently scheduling or completing related repairs; planning and organizing work activities; performing advanced irrigation system repairs; programming computerized irrigation system watering schedules; coordinating with SRP; and applying fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides. During the flood irrigation season (April - October) responsibilities may include the facilitation of flood irrigation for various parks and sports facilities throughout Mesa. This includes setting work hours at varied day and evening times based on the irrigation schedule provided by SRP, performing work with limited assistance and/or supervision, opening and closing flood gates and valves based on field capacity, regulates and measures flows in the City's distribution system and delivery gates, inspecting flood irrigation systems for breaks/malfunctions, and performing related repairs. Riverview/Pro-Sports Maintenance Assignment: Employees assigned to Riverview/Pro-Sports maintenance assignment perform construction, maintenance, repair, and skilled labor in maintaining and repairing the City's athletic/sports fields and Riverview Park including a variety of tasks in general trades and/or skilled maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of facilities, fixtures, playground equipment, and irrigation systems. Duties include: performing landscape maintenance at the stadium common areas and park; conducting safety inspections; independently scheduling or completing related repairs; performing athletic field game preps; advanced repair and programing of computerized irrigation systems; planning and organizing work activities; and applying fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides. This classification is distinguished from the next lower level, Parks Maintenance Worker I, by the advanced skill level and independence exercised by the Parks Maintenance Worker II. The Parks Maintenance Worker II class is distinguished from the next higher level, Trades Worker, by the latter's performance of the full-range of tasks of a trade at the journey-level and, with the exception of the combined trades of electricity and plumbing, performs nearly all of the work in one trade. Supervision is received from a Parks Maintenance Leader or Parks and Community Facilities Maintenance Foreman (depending on assignment) who reviews work through observation, conferences, reports, and spot checking of results achieved. Currently there are three different 4-10 shifts: * Sunday - Wednesday 2:30pm - 1:00am * Wednesday - Saturday 5:00am-3:30pm * Wednesday - Saturday 2:30pm-1:00am IDEAL CANDIDATE * Ability to use a wide variety of tools and equipment including: * Mechanic tools. * Volt ohm meter (VOM). * HVAC troubleshooting and diagnosis tools. * Metal fabricating tools. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. * Ability to prioritize work assignments. * Ability to operate equipment according to manuals, directions, specifications, or warning signals. * Ability to work in the field supervising and directing Building Equipment Operators I, Building Maintenance Workers, and other maintenance support employees according to general or specific instructions received from a Building Equipment Supervisor. SALARY Pay Range: $31.82 - $42.64 per hour. Hiring Range: $31.82 - $40.61 per hour. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The minimum qualifications listed above, plus: * Experience in overseeing service contractors and ensuring adherence to the contracts. * Experience in coordinating outside contractors for repairs or maintenance, and ordering parts to maintain and repair equipment. * Experience in oversight and monitoring progress of a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. * Experience in a Guest Services environment providing services with direct customer contact. * Experience or training in the inspection, service and repair of Cooling towers, fan coils, dampers, centrifugal pumps, boilers, water pumps, blowers. * Experience or training in Computer use and operation relating to HVAC/Mechanical Systems equipment and Building Automation Systems (BAS). * Experience in the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in air conditioning, heating, air handling operations, maintenance and repair work. * Experience in plumbing, electricity, mechanics, sheet metal work, and water analysis and treatment. * Experience in the use and care of manual tools and equipment necessary to perform various mechanical repair tasks. * Lead or Supervisory experience. * Experience in Commercial/Industrial HVAC and mechanical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. * Experience in the installation, service and repair of electronic controls. * Experience working with automated preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs. * Experience in using computer systems (windows, excel, email, etc.) * Experience with MS Office applications (e.g., Word and Excel). * Experience with chiller maintenance and repair. * Experience with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
