This position requires an employee to work between 20-25 hours per week during the school semesters, and 40 hours per week during summer, not to exceed 1,500 hours in a calendar year. Each semester, undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and graduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
INTERN GUIDELINES:
Students who have completed at least one year of college and are enrolled as a full-time student may apply. Must be enrolled full-time in a degree seeking program. A student's intern position will end within three months after graduation.
Pay Rate:
$19.00 - $22.00/hour

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Supervisor-IT Applications or designee, is responsible for the design, integration, and implementation of software that supports the utility's business strategies and objectives. This is considered a .NET developer position and requires technical skills and expertise in .NET (C#) to create and enhance effective end-user software interacting with complex relational database technologies. Will be required to create, maintain, and modify both web and windows applications. Experience with one or more software development lifecycle methodologies is preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Collaborates with business users and technical teams to understand requirements, define project scope, and clarify system objectives.
2. Assists in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications that support the operational and strategic needs of City Utilities.
3. Participates in the evaluation of existing and proposed technical solutions, requirements, and procedures to recommend improvements.
4. Prepares draft technical specifications and contributes to the creation of program designs under guidance from senior staff.
5. Develops and maintains clear documentation that complies with company and industry standards.
6. Engages in team reviews of system designs and code to ensure quality and maintainability.
7. Supports training and demonstrations for end users on the operation of new or updated systems.
8. Proactively learns and applies new programming languages, frameworks, toolsets, and cloud platforms relevant to utility operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of one year of college working towards a degree with a major in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is required. No experience is required.
Licensing/Certification:
Must have a valid driver's license (minimum Class F).

o Develop and support software applications using Windows platform development tools such as Visual Studio .NET, Entity Framework, and Azure DevOps/Team Foundation Server.

o Utility industry business processes (e.g., customer information systems, outage management, work management, or asset management systems) - preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Typically, sedentary work. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer is required.

Primary Role
Process Technician operates and maintains the groundwater treatment facility, well field, booster stations and tanks, including daily operations and maintenance. Must follow all work and safety rules established by the company.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for daily operations and maintenance activity in the production department assigned.
Maintains accurate records of all maintenance activities.
Assists with the preparation of maintenance activities as required.
Makes water treatment control tests and calculations necessary to control the water treatment and pumpage of the facility.
Maintains storeyards and materials in an orderly fashion. Renovates salvaged materials. If a vehicle is assigned, ensures that the vehicle is kept stocked with necessary materials, tools, and equipment. Keeps vehicle, tools, and equipment clean and secure. Makes or assists in making measurements on the job. Adheres to OSHA standards, other applicable regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of the usage of distribution maps and construction plans in any format and how to locate the various distribution facilities.
Direct production personnel and make decisions when required.
Encourages and maintains a safe work environment.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures.
Capable of performing duties with minimal supervision.
Possesses a working knowlege of personal computers, RTU's and programmable logic controllers.

Step 1
We have found that by starting in our warehouse, you will begin to understand our products and vendors. This will entail shipping, receiving, stocking, etc. Time spent in the warehouse- 3-6 months (estimate).

The intern will work under the direction of the Operations Superintendent and Results Lab Supervisor to learn power plant principles and power plant operations as well as gain knowledge of an industrial environment as it pertains to the power production industry by working closely with various trades. In a challenging and complex environment, the intern will gain valuable skills for working with a team of represented employees and managing the daily operations of a fossil-fueled power plant. The Intern will learn how the Results Lab supplies the plant with drinking water, and water to assist with firefighting. In addition, will learn about maintaining the boiler water & steam chemistry. The Intern will complete specific projects that may include water sampling, cooling water supply, lab analysis samples, monitoring chlorine levels, and documentation updates.
Education/Experience required:
Must be currently enrolled in school and have completed 45 college credit hours.
Preferred educational area of focus is on fields of science such as chemistry, biology, or physical science. Will consider applicants with an educational focus on mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, engineering technology, or industrial technology, with an emphasis in manufacturing, or sustainable energy systems management.

Locations
Ameren is located throughout Missouri and Illinois. Location decisions will be made as soon as possible during the hiring process. If you are selected for an intern or co-op position, please note that Ameren does offer a housing stipend to interns and co-ops who are temporarily relocating, if minimum housing stipend requirements (living & attending school 50+ miles away from your working location) are met.
Qualifications
Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Project Management or Engineering Management from an accredited college or university required with a GPA of 2.5 or above.

This position requires an employee to work between 20-25 hours per week during the school semesters, and 40 hours per week during summer, not to exceed 1,500 hours in a calendar year. Each semester, undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and graduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
INTERN GUIDELINES:
Students who have completed at least one year of college and are enrolled as a full-time student may apply. Must be enrolled full-time in a degree seeking program. A student's intern position will end within three months after graduation.
Pay Rate:
$19.00 - $22.00/hour

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Supervisor-IT Database Administration or designee, is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and management of databases supported by the Information Technology department of City Utilities. Coordinates, controls, and organizes the automated data and information resources of the Utility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains knowledge and skillsets of RDMBS systems supported by the Information Technology department of City Utilities through online education, training, schools, conferences, seminars, publications, and other sources as appropriate and available.
2. Prepares DBA documentation that complies with current standards.
3. Helps users to navigate and use database functions.
4. Participates in team reviews and DBA Meetings.
5. Assists / Performs Day-to-Day DBA Tasks, User Migrations.
6. Accepts responsibility for learning new DB skills, Scripting Skills, tool sets, and platforms.
7. With aid of DB Administration Tools (like TOAD, Oracle SQL Developer, Redgate, Microsoft SSMS), performs basic DB Administration under guidance of Supervisor-IT DBA or designee.
8. Analyzes Database Logs, Notification and Reports for any alerts or abnormalities. Responds to database related problems, incidents, and concerns reported by City Utilities' personnel or automated monitoring systems.
9. Frequent communication to the supervisor, of database administration activities and issues.
10. Performs other related duties as required or assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Working towards a bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field is required. Minimum two years of undergraduate work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to:
Make good decisions.
Code relational database packages and stored procedures.
Write basic scripts using the OS Commands and Tools like Linux Shell Scripting or PowerShell Scripting.
Work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Think analytically, pay attention to detail, and review work for accuracy.
Effectively utilize a range of digital tools and platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, enterprise software, artificial intelligence-enhanced applications, and self-service systems. Must possess a willingness and capacity to learn and adapt to emerging technologies, including mobile devices, cloud-based systems, and data-driven platforms relevant to utility operations.
Familiarity with Windows, Linux and basic Database access and management tools (TOAD, SQLPLUS).
Familiarity with basic query tools like SQL to fetch data and use SQL for DBA reporting.
Maintain adherence to all company policies.
Physical Requirements:
Typically, sedentary work. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer is required.
Working Conditions:
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
New hires are informed of the requirements of the Internship Program upon hire, and incumbents must continue to meet the requirements each semester in order to continue employment. Interns who do not meet the requirements may be ineligible for the internship and their employment may be terminated.
Employee must remain alert and aware of their surroundings at all times and maintain the ability to respond to changing circumstances in a timely manner.
Must be able to work successfully with diverse groups of people.
