Founded as Med-Tec, Inc. in 1982, our team has grown rapidly over the years, beginning as general machining for medical physicists to developing, manufacturing and distributing products for radiation therapy.
1984 CIVCO launched its first line of ultrasound probe covers, including latex and polyethylelene covers.
1987 CIVCO invented and commercialized the first disposable needle guidance system
In 1989, Med-Tec opened a facility in Orange City, Iowa with three employees.
1989 CIVCO introduced CIV-Flex™, a non-latex polyurethane transducer cover line.
1992 CIVCO built a new 15,000-square foot corporate headquarters facility in Kalona, Iowa.
1992 CIVCO entered the prostate brachytherapy market with the development of the Ultra-Step™ stepping device.
A few years later, the company grew to 13 employees and in 1996, Paul and Anita Korver retired, selling the business to Clayton and Deb Korver.
1996 CIVCO released the Ultra-Pro II™ needle guidance system.
2002 CIVCO acquired Barzell-Whitmore Maroon-Bells, Inc, a designer and manufacturer of prostate treatment positioning and stabilizing devices.
In December of 2005, MEDTEC, Inc. was purchased by Roper Technologies to expand their medical segment to include radiation oncology products that enhance cancer treatment outcomes through improved patient positioning and products designed to target tumor elimination.
2005 CIVCO was acquired by Roper Technologies, becoming the first medical device company in the Roper portfolio.
In May 2006, the company's radiation oncology product line was expanded through the acquisition of SINMED, BV located in The Netherlands to add additional global market presence.
2009 CIVCO introduced the first of its electromagnetic needle tracking devices, eTRAX™ and VirtuTRAX™.
2012 CIVCO introduced the OmniTRAX CT™ patient tracking device for fusion imaging and released the Infiniti Plus needle guide for regional anesthesia.
2015 Released the OmniTRAX MR&reade; active patient tracker for synchronizing ultrasound and MR images in real time.
2018 Expanded Coralville headquarter facility, doubling its size.
