As a Civil 3D CAD Designer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC) in our Sacramento office, you'll work with project managers to produce civil site, water resources and solid waste construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D to include site plans, grading & drainage plans, utility plans, erosion control plans, storm and sewer profiles and grading surfaces. Your project duties will typically include the preparation of plan, profile, and cross-section drawings, and develop erosion control and stormwater pollution prevention plans. You'll calculate material quantities to be used in construction estimates, determine earthwork volumes (cuts and fills) based on existing and proposed topography, identify appropriate construction control systems on plans (i.e., baselines, stationing, control points, etc.) and prepare the same. You'll provide value-oriented design suggestions, review drawings and documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards.
Opportunity for partial work from home and competitive compensation.
The pay range for this position is between $48+/hour based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other great benefits).

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
4+ years of experience in construction as a Project Engineer, Superintendent, or similar role.
Experience in both technical documentation and on-site supervision is highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is sought but not required.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of construction processes, plans, and specifications.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project).
Excellent organizational and time management skills to balance office and field responsibilities.
Strong communication and leadership abilities to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.
Problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.
Certifications (Preferred):
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
First Aid/CPR Certification.
LEED Green Associate or AP (a plus).
Working Conditions:
Significant portion of time spent on construction sites.
Ability to navigate construction sites, including uneven terrain and various weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer for the Surface Transportation Department in Novi, Michigan. Projects may include the design of urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, interchanges, design-build and more.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Geometric design of roadways creating horizontal and vertical alignments and models.
Preparation of design reports including design study reports, and technical memorandums
Coordination with project stakeholders including clients, the public, utility companies, and permitting agencies.
Plan preparation for roadway plans in accordance with MDOT or Local standards.
Calculate quantities and estimates for MDOT and local transportation projects
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
4+ years of previous roadway design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and/or Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E).
Professional Engineering (PE) License.
Experience designing highway/roadway systems.
Experience on multidisciplinary project with subconsultants.
Experience with design software including Bentley Open Roads
Familiar with MS Office 2010 software (Excel, Word, Project) is required.
Current work and experience with Schematic Development, Roadway Design.
Good communication skills and ability to work as a team.

Overview of Job Responsibilities:
Schedule Management
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using software such as MS Project or equivalent
Monitor and analyze project progress to identify schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions
Perform critical path and float analysis
Assist in preparing look-ahead schedules and schedule reporting
Cost Control
Support the creation and maintenance of project budgets and cost control systems
