As a Civil Engineering Principal for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll collaborate with the Office Civil Practice Lead and Operations Lead to grow the Civil Practice in our Cleveland, Ohio office. By developing and strengthening our relationships with prospective and existing clients, you will help to guide the growth of the practice on both a local and regional basis. Through your experience, you will guide the external stakeholders through the regulatory environment, and ensure the technical excellence of your projects. You'll be directly responsible for developing and reviewing proposals and project budgets, managing/mentoring a team of engineers and project managers, and performing final quality control/assurance.
In your role, you will guide and lead a team of engineers through multi-faceted civil engineering projects and business development initiatives. As part of the management team, you will assist in the recruiting and professional development of the staff, including the performance of annual reviews and the establishment of development goals. Concurrently, our senior management teams will work with you to customize your individual career path through a variety of professional development and mentoring activities related to your project management, leadership, business development initiatives and service offerings, and assist with office/corporate initiatives.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience;
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree;
Ohio P.E. required;
Technical design expertise, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, erosion & sedimentation control, and site utility design;
Established client base and ability to develop business for CEC;
Established relationships with industry professionals and regulators;
Proven experience in the management and development of a consulting engineering team; and
Experience with varying types of private -sector projects such as commercial land development; renewable energy/power generation; industrial/manufacturing development; natural gas; public-sector projects for local and state agencies.
