As a Water Resource Engineer with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Toledo, OH office, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively in an employee-owned company while interacting with clients, contractors, regulators, and local government officials. You will provide services for projects of various complexities with opportunities in stormwater management & compliance, watershed management, floodplain management, National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) permitting & map revisions, flood mitigation analyses, permitting & design, stream restoration & mitigation, dam safety engineering, waterways development, bridge & culvert designs, water resources & construction permitting, and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) services.
Your involvement throughout the lifespan of projects will be from conception through construction as you contribute to the analysis, design, development of plans & specifications, permitting applications, bidding, and construction engineering. You will work collaboratively with our diverse team of talented, passionate, multidisciplinary experts as we provide unique solutions to meet our clients' needs with innovation and a vision for growth. Responsibilities:
Perform advanced engineering design tasks on complex water resource projects;
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support design and assessment of surface water systems and infrastructure;
Develop and review hydrologic and hydraulic models and perform simulations;
Develop detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and reports, along with permit application support;
Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on projects;
Provide mentoring, training, and oversight for staff;
Manage water resource related projects and tasks; and
Pursue client management and business development opportunities.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Water Resources, or Biosystems Engineering (or related field);
E.I.T. (Engineer in Training) Required;
Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Ohio Preferred;
7+ years of water resources engineering experience;
Experience mentoring and managing staff;
Experience with hydrologic and open-channel hydraulics processes and expertise in modeling these processes; and
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM HydroCAD, or other water resources software.

The base salary range for this role begins at $144,000.00 in our lowest cost US region and goes up to $188,000.00 in our highest cost US region. Your recruiting contact can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
This is an estimated range, however, specific base salaries within the range depend on various factors such as experience and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

As a licensed Professional Survey Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll work directly with our Survey Practice Lead and existing office and fields teams providing technical oversight, mentoring and project management. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to expand the group as well as expand its client base and capabilities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Strategic Visioning/Leadership: Assist with the efforts in identifying opportunities for growing the practice by expansion of survey services. Assist with business development and marketing effort and implement sales strategies to provide sustainable growth of the practice. Work with other practices within CEC to provide an integrated approach to addressing our Client's needs. Improve services standard both internally and externally of the practice.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical oversight of projects to include quality assurance and quality control of procedures and work product. Promote and monitor field and office procedures to assure a high level of consistent work product and service quality across the Columbus practice. Promote and monitor the comprehensive safety program for the survey practice.
Personnel Development/Recruiting: Provide mentoring and training to survey staff to assure professional growth and development. Assist with the identification and recruiting of key personnel.
Qualifications
5-10 years of professional surveying experience, 3+ years licensed, working in a professional office environment;
Professional Land Surveyor registration (PLS) or ability to obtain licensure with having S.I.T.;
Knowledge of technological advances, principles, techniques and practices of land surveying;
Experience with survey project management; including preparation of proposals, tracking project budgets, and billing review;
Ability to speak and write professionally;
Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to staff in the survey practice;
Ability to assist in growth of survey practice using marketing and networking techniques.
