ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support the development of structural design for low- to medium-complexity modular steel buildings.
Prepare structural 3D models, perform static and dynamic calculations, and generate technical documentation such as workshop drawings, lifting and anchoring layouts, and specifications.
Apply international, national, and internal standards, ensuring that all designs are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.
Integrate good engineering practices into every stage of the design process.
Actively participate in project kick-off and coordination meetings, and engage with cross-functional teams including architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and site engineers to ensure a cohesive project execution.
Support the review and technical approval of workshop documentation and supplier RFQs.
Specify materials, services, and necessary certifications for project execution.
Provide technical support during fabrication and assembly.
Collaborate with site managers, manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning engineers to resolve structural issues and ensure safe and efficient implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or acceptable experience
Professional engineering (PE) License - optional
Minimum 5 years of mechanical/structural engineering experience
Proficiency in Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD or Creo, SCIA Engineer, anchoring design tools, and MS Office
Attention to detail, analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, organization, flexibility, and strong team collaboration
Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications, customer specifications
Knowledge and understanding of local and national building codes
Must have the ability to research new designs, technologies and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities

Qualifications

**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Provide system design deliverables which include: system design specifications, which include performing structural analysis and calculations
+ Perform Soil-Structure-Interaction (SSI) analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures
+ Perform design and analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Safety-Related Structures in accordance with the following codes: ASME B&PV Section III Division 2, AISC N690 code, and ACI 349 code.
+ Perform Static and Dynamic analysis of complex NI and Containment structures using ANSYS APDL computer code.
+ Understand and analyze the effect of thermal stresses in the reactor containment and resolve over stress conditions
+ Define hydrodynamic input loads for calculation of dynamic response of containment structure and the C/S design of reactor containment
+ Analyze the effects of missiles, aircraft impact and severe wind on reinforced concrete structures
+ Develop engineering reports and licensing documentation.
+ Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues.
+ Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents; prepare systems documentation using the designated requirements management tool
+ Lead and conduct design analyses, evaluations, and verifications for various BWR structural systems

**Job Description**
As a Project Structural Engineer at Olsson, you will work with some of the world's largest technology companies and other mission-critical clients. You will independently handle engineering and project management tasks on small to medium-sized projects, from conception to completion. The City of Sacramento Department of Utilities' (DOU) Wastewater (WW) Planning Section is seeking motivated engineers to join the team that plays a vital role in shaping the future of the City's separated and combined sewer systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful, hands-on work that goes beyond contract management. The WW Planning Section is directly involved in technical tasks such as hydraulic modeling, master planning, condition assessments of pump stations and force mains, asset risk analysis, capital improvement project (CIP) development and prioritization, data analysis for wastewater rate planning and development impact fee updates, and Operations and Maintenance coordination. Additionally, this position is responsible for CIP project delivery tasks which could include preparing design plans, specifications, budgets, and providing construction management oversight.
IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The ideal candidate will have experience or education in wastewater, hydraulics, and/or asset management. Familiarity with software tools such as GIS, InfoWorks ICM, Excel, and InfoAsset Planner are highly desirable.

Assistant Civil Engineer
This is the journey level class in the professional civil engineering series not requiring registration. Associate Civil Engineer
This is the full journey level class in the civil engineering series requiring registration. Responsibilities of an Associate Civil Engineer may include the direct or indirect supervision of lower level professional engineers and technical personnel.
