AMT is seeking a highly motivated Transportation Civil Engineer to assume a key role in the firm's growing Virginia Beach office. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working on transportation and other infrastructure projects for VDOT and Virginia localities.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Transportation Civil Engineer, the selected candidate will be responsible for client coordination, working with the design team, coordinating with other disciplines, performing Quality Control reviews, assisting in the preparation of scope and fee proposals, adhering to budgets and schedules, and assisting with RFP responses and presentations. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a design project and working with the design team in preparing roadway, grading, sediment and erosion control, SWM and storm drainage construction plans for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects.Design tasks may include: roadway, trail and sidewalk design; open and closed system storm drainage design; stormwater management design; erosion and sediment control plans; Transportation Management Plans; signing and pavement marking plans; traffic signal plans; quantity and cost estimating; utility coordination; and other engineering design and support tasks related to the development of roadway construction plans.

QualificationsVirginia licensed Professional Engineer license preferred, EIT required Minimum of 5 years Transportation / Civil Engineering experience Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and lead a design team Technical proficiency with Microstation/Geopak/OpenRoadsMust possess strong communication skills (written and oral)

STV currently has an opening in our New York, NY office for a Civil/Transportation Engineer in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. The team player we seek must have a BS/MS degree in Transportation Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience with NYC/NYSDOT, DDC, DEP, MTA or similar public agency and municipal projects. The candidate will be responsible for managing interdisciplinary projects, document preparation and production, managing sub-consultants, monitoring budgets, schedules and quality. The candidate must have experience managing and writing winning technical proposals. In-depth background in the design of highways and streets, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a NY PE license are preferred. Additional experience in Site/Civil projects, including preparation of Builders Pavement Plans, parking lot design, and site grading and drainage, for private sector projects, is a plus. The ability to interact well with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams is essential.
Requirements

BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering.

Registered Professional Engineer in NY is preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil transportation, highway and roadway design, or closely related engineering field.

Ability to manage and provide technical expertise in the following areas: roadway/highway design

Vertical and horizontal alignments

Pavement section design

Drainage system design

Prepared MPT, Civil Site, Grading and Utility Plans

Local NYC experience is highly preferred with agencies such as the MTA, DDC, DEP and DOT.

Pavement Plans, parking lot design, and site grading and drainage, for private sector projects, is a plus.

Proficient with AutoCAD and Microstation 2D drafting is required and Civil 3D, In/Open Roads, AutoTURN and HydroCAD are a plus.

The ability to interact well with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams is essential.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
