PURPOSE OF POSITION:
New Student Mentors will provide direct outreach and support to incoming and first term students as well as support to currently enrolled students. Outreach will include modalities such as email and phone calls in addition to face-to-face support in the Wacheno Welcome Center. Individuals in this position will assist students with accessing the college's online systems and registering for classes. Mentors will also connect students to specific service areas (i.e. Financial Aid, Advising, and Career Center) as well as other resources available to them (i.e. Counseling, Food Pantry, etc.). Mentors may also facilitate onboarding and skill building sessions for incoming and current students. This position works in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment and frequently communicates with students in person, via email, and on the phone.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:.
* Student Support (95%)
* Serve as a designated representative of the Clackamas CC student services areas.
* Partner with Clackamas CC service staff to support students with getting registered and prepared to start classes.
* Greet and provide assistance to students.
* Help identify and clarify student needs and provide resource information and connections.
* Answer questions in-person, via emails, and via phone calls to support students in getting registered and prepared for classes.
* Support students in understanding basic steps to getting started at the college and help create a welcoming and inclusive space for all students to ask questions and make connections.
* Connect students with service areas and schedule appointments for students.
* Help students with account log-ins and accessing their accounts and other basic online functions.
* Assist students with registering for classes in the online system.
* Be familiar with and refer students to the different student services and resources housed in the Wacheno Welcome Center (i.e. Financial Aid, Advising, Counseling, Lab, Food Pantry, Benefits Navigator, Transportation).
* Office Support (5%)
* Maintain space in a clean and orderly manner.
* Provide basic support for other college employees.
GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, other agencies, and the general public.
* Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.
* Participate in college committees when requested.
* Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility, which may require travel.
* Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
* Maintain student confidentiality, data integrity, and comply with all related college, state, and federal standards, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

POSITION PURPOSE:

The School of Computing and Information Sciences (SCIS) at Willamette University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering / Operations Research to join our faculty beginning in August 2026.
A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or closely related field is required. The successful candidate may be assigned to teach in any SCIS degree program, but they will primarily contribute to the school's new ABET-compliant Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering and operations research.
Candidates with expertise in process optimization using software (preferably FlexSim and/or Arena), stochastic processes, probability, statistics, statistical engineering, or operations research will be given special consideration.
Full time faculty in SCIS typically teach 5 classes per year. We are committed to the highest quality instruction and prefer candidates who are comfortable using their research/scholarship to elevate the classroom experience for students. Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) at Willamette University invites applications for a part-time instructor in the CE department to develop and teach a new 2-week Pre-College Animation Intensive, launching in Summer 2026.

The course will meet in-person in downtown Portland, Oregon, at the Arlene and Harold Schnitzer Center for Art and Design. PNCA offers a syllabus stipend to account for time spent developing a syllabus, Canvas site, and other class materials, in addition to a per-program stipend

This faculty member may also be expected to spend a small amount of time outside of class doing preparation; this is accounted for in the per-program stipend. The Community Programs Coordinator is also available to provide support with syllabus and Canvas site development.
Instructors will be supported by a student Program Assistant. The Community Programs Coordinator will be on-campus to manage check-in, check-out, and any additional student needs.
The ideal candidate will have teaching experience
as well as
animation work experience, but we are open to considering candidates with nontraditional experience.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM Responsibilities:
Facilities Maintenance:
Maintain electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, general plumbing, mechanical systems, and appliances. Maintains records of all work accomplished and provides reports to supervisor including equipment status, time, materials and corrective action taken.
Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment, food service equipment, machinery and appliances. Diagnose and perform the necessary level of mechanical or electrical repair. Responsible for adjustments, calibration, disassembly, rebuilding or replacement of parts, reassembly, start-up, operational testing and adjustment in accordance with
manufacturer's specifications and sound maintenance practices.
Maintain and troubleshoot fire protection systems. Evaluate and remedy Trouble Codes, replace defective devices, inspect and clean early warning devices.
Inspect and maintain food service equipment. Perform repairs on electrical appliances.
Evaluate appliances for serviceability; recommend appropriate actions for repair or replacement. Repair or replace and install equipment as necessary.
Perform preventative maintenance as assigned. Complete inspections and maintenance by the scheduled date and initiate work orders for equipment maintenance and repairs outside of the scope of preventive maintenance.
Perform maintenance on plumbing fixtures, toilets, hot water heaters, tanks, piping, other plumbing and steam equipment as required.
Daily operation and maintenance of boilers, feed water system, standby oil delivery system, steam supply and recovery equipment. Monitor boiler efficiency.
Respond to emergency utility requests (water problems, toilets, lights, heating, and fire system) both during scheduled work hours and after hours as required.
Other duties:
Correct and/or report any safety hazards or discrepancy noted on the College campus and properties
Maintain shop and mechanical areas in a clean and orderly manner, and ensure all
assigned work areas are clean and maintained to promote efficiency and a safe working environment.
Operate equipment such as forklifts, carts, generators, and pumps.
Perform duties assigned, including, but not limited to: assisting in the department safety and disaster program, assisting co-workers with tasks and special projects, attending off-site training and/or conferences that may require travel, assisting in preparing for college functions and supporting commencement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position requires journey level skills and will be expected to share knowledge, cross train, and assist other employees in attaining knowledge and developing their skills. May be asked to perform leadership responsibilities in the absence of the utility supervisor.
Work with , supervise, and mentor student and temporary work force. Share information and assist in the development of employees' ability to assist and maintain buildings and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five years journey level experience in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning and/or refrigeration trades; or experience and education demonstrating proficiency in electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or building maintenance, or a combination thereof.
Demonstrate skills required include:
Licensed in the State of Oregon as a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, installation, operation and
maintenance procedure manuals, safety rules and other technical documents as required.
Knowledge in the use and care of troubleshooting tools and diagnostic equipment commonly used in the refrigeration and electrical trades.
Basic knowledge in the use of personal computers, including the ability to write routine reports and maintain email correspondence.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Job Summary

Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes, and swim 20 yards to retrieve a 10-pound object off the bottom of the largest pools at any time; must have sufficient physical fitness and swimming ability to reach a patron within 30 seconds within the zone of coverage, which may be over 30 yards from guard station; must be able to deliver emergency equipment poolside (automated external defibrillator, bag-vale masks, backboard) within 30 seconds of emergency notification; must be able to move equipment reels on deck and move equipment into and out of the pools.
Environment
Works variable schedule and exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Work may be performed in an office and recreation facility. Work may be performed in an outdoor or indoor facility during variable weather conditions.
