**Summary**
Manually apply assigned customer payments in ERP system (SAP). This includes gathering backup from customer, broker or sales, etc. to apply payment and create residual item. Create/update residual item information in Dispute Management system. Create credit/debit memo to offset residual item. Clear approved deductions for assigned group of customers. Other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Manual cash application for assigned group of customers. 100% daily. Cash must be applied accurately. Highlight opportunities to improve hit rate on auto cash application.
+ Obtain payment/deduction backup from customer, broker or sales.
+ Create residual item using proper reason code. Create/update dispute management information.
+ Properly create credit/debit memo to be used to clear residual item, leaving on billing block until approved. Ample text should be entered to allow sales reps to review on line. This text also allows for a good audit trail for future inquiries.
+ Clear miscellaneous deducts through proper G/L and Cost Center numbers when approved.
+ Highlight issues/trends to Claims Analyst or Claims Supervisor, recommending solutions to reduce the occurrence of errors which lead to customer claims.
**Minimum Education & Experience**
+ High school education is required.
+ 4 year college degree is preferred, in accounting or business management or 2-4 years of accounting experience.
**Experience Preferred**
+ Has basic knowledge of accounting (specifically Accounts Receivable).
+ Previous ERP system (SAP) or computerized accounting system experience.
+ Must be well organized, focused, and able to multi-task.
+ Good communication and customer service skills are necessary. Timely follow up is required.

Primary Purpose Of Position
- Provides detailed administrative and systems support to the Claims Department.
- Performs a multitude of duties and varied special projects to support both department and business unit's goals with minimum of supervision.
- Participate in the handling of select multiple property damage claims.
