Claremont Graduate University (CGU) is one of the oldest US schools
completely dedicated to graduate study. Located in Claremont, California,
CGU is a competitive institution with rigorous academics and a long list
of notable alumni. Since CGU is part of The Claremont College system,

and leaders in such fields as Fine Arts or Journalism. CGU is part of the seven-college system that includes such schools as
Pomona, Pitzer and Harvey Mudd. CGU students therefore also have access
to facilities, campus activities and various other opportunities
throughout the Claremont system. The tree-lined Claremont campus is on the outskirts of Claremont's
downtown. The small, charming town of Claremont features cafes,
restaurants, bookstores, music festivals, and other attractions to
enhance college life. Claremont is also only 35 miles from downtown Los
Angeles. Admissions requirements vary from one academic department to another.
General admissions requirements include a CGU application, a personal
statement, recommendation letters and transcripts. Certain programs also
require GRE scores. CGU awards institutional scholarships. Students may also apply for loans
by filling out a FAFSA. Individual departments may offer fellowships and
