It offers additives, such as flame retardants, polymer additives, and waxes for application in coatings, plastics, printing inks, cosmetics, agriculture, and adhesives; catalysts for chemical, petrochemical, polymer, refinery, and automotive industries; lithium-iron-phosphate and electrode materials for energy efficiency and storage, and environmental markets; raw materials for laundry detergents and household cleaning products; and chemical intermediates comprising glyoxal and glyoxylic acid, and their derivates for manufacturing agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. The company also provides emulsions/polymer dispersions for use in paints, coatings, adhesives, construction, sealants, ground protection, paper, leather, and textiles; functional materials for application in consumer, water treatment, foundry and construction, packaging, and plastic additives; specialty chemicals and application solutions for consumer care and industrial markets; and leather chemicals and services for application in automotive, shoe and fancy goods, furniture, garment, and fur industries. In addition, it offers color and additive concentrates, and technical compounds for the plastics industry; chemical solutions and explosive emulsions for application in oil, refinery, and mining industries; whiteness, color, coating, and strength solutions for the paper market; organic pigments, pigment preparations, and dyes used in coatings, printing, plastics, and other specialty applications; and special chemicals for pretreatment, dyeing, printing, and finishing of textiles. The company was formerly known as Sandoz Chemicals Corporation and changed its name to Clariant Corporation in July 1995. The company was founded in 1995 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
