The Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, is a private institution of predominantly African-American heritage that offers comprehensive educational programs for undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees as well as certificate programs. Student life at the university provides students with numerous resources for enrichment, including art galleries, community service projects, academic events and involvement with the student government. The Career Planning and Placement Center assists students with extensive career development programs and identifying and securing potential employment opportunities. The school cares about your future success and is there to help you every step of the way. Academics at the school are offered in four distinct schools: arts and sciences, business, education and social work. The college also has five Centers of Excellence, with specializations in business, cancer research, computational intelligence, education and mass media arts. Admissions require students to have earned a high school GPA of at least 2.5 and a score of 19 on the ACT or 900 on the SAT critical reading and math portions. Students must submit an official high school transcript, standardized test scores, a personal essay and two letters of recommendation-one from a counselor, the other from a teacher. Students who have maintained a GPA of 3.25-3.49 and have earned 1100 on the SAT or 24 on the ACT will be considered to receive a Dean's scholarship from the school. To be considered for additional financial aid through federal loans, students must file a FAFSA.
