Northeast High School was erected on a plot of land at 3100 North Kelley, and opened its doors on September 7, 1937.
Under his leadership, the gymnasium and several classroom additions were built in 1940-41.
School History When Northeast High School opened its doors on September 7, 1954, the total enrollment was 978 students with a faculty of 51 teachers and a total of 46 classrooms.
John M. Sexton served as principal from inception until 1965.
Northeast High School was established in 1981 from the consolidation of Pride High School and Chaneyville High School.
The student body population has reached as high as 3000 and back down to its present 2000.
