JOB TITLE: CDL Class B Truck Driver DEPARTMENT: SLI Sales The CDL Class B Truck Driver is responsible for following a pre-established weekly schedule in delivering batteries to customers on time and in a safe manner. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides on-time delivery to customers. Drivers load their trucks according to stops, as best as possible. Drivers are expected to assist in unloading deliveries at each stop. Driver is responsible to pick up returned product and mark accordingly. Driver will unload return product from customers, mark accordingly and place returns in designated areas. Driver must be sure both outgoing and return loads are secure and loaded for proper weight distribution and according to DOT HAZMAT guidelines. Responsible for reporting violations, fines and accidents to the Cromwell office immediately. Servicing/repairs/replacement of parts should be authorized by the Cromwell office only. Situations involving a breakdown are to be reported to the Cromwell office immediately to authorize servicing. Responsible for keeping the truck and cargo area clean and neat. Use ELD system to accurately perform daily logs including start/stop time, milage, and fuel records. Performs Pre-Trip and Post-Trip vehicle inspections documenting deficiencies and ensures all safety items are in good working condition. Authorized credit cards only will be used for the purchase of fuel. Expense reports with receipts are to be completed and turned in to the Cromwell office on a weekly basis. Driver is responsible for: Understanding and following DOT rules and guidelines, policies, procedures, and instructions for HAZMAT. Understanding and following Crown Battery rules and guidelines. Ability to properly operate a pallet jack, forklift, and other warehouse equipment. Driver may be required to assist in the warehouse as needed. May work under pressure because of delays, traffic conditions and weather conditions. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position, at a minimum of 10-hour shifts, four days week, overtime is scheduled as needed. Position Summary: As a CDL-A Line Haul Driver, you will transport freight between Ross Express terminals during overnight hours. You will be home daily, as well as on weekends and holidays. Clean Driving Record: No record of a driver's license suspension or revocation for more than 30 days covering the 36-month period prior to the order date of the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). A suspension for failure to pay and/or failure to appear will be considered provided there was no conviction for driving while suspended during this period. No record of citation or conviction for any serious traffic violation during the 60-month period prior to the order date of the MVR. No past pattern or record of citations or convictions for more than three motor vehicle violations during the 36-month period prior to the order date of the MVR. No past pattern or record of involvement in more than one at-fault traffic accident and no more than two motor vehicle violations during the 36-month period prior to the order date of the MVR. Physical Examination: Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination. Pre-Employment Drug Screen: Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen and the result must be negative. Previous Employer Controlled Substance & Alcohol Check: Ross Express must receive a negative controlled substance and alcohol result from prior employer(s) for the past three-year period.
