Performs a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection according to DOT and company standards.
Maintains and updates daily Elogs to ensure accurate and compliant records. Reports Elog malfunctions to Compliance Specialist as required.
Balances and handles an expense account for each trip by recording all expenses and maintaining all receipts.
Provides basic maintenance for vehicle such as maintaining vehicle in a neat manner and performing minor repairs. Reports and schedules maintenance for larger mechanical issues to Company's truck shop.
Maintains company gas credit cards, and valid/current proof of insurance and registration in vehicle.
Ensures proper maintenance of vehicle and reports all accidents/damage/malfunctions to management.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
A minimum of 2 years driving commercial trucks required.
Proven experience operating PTO-driven equipment and Walinga pneumatic discharge systems (or similar bulk feed delivery systems).
Experience loading and unloading commercial trailers preferred.
Experience working in a feed mill or manufacturing environment preferred.
Clean driving record and Class A (commercial) license is required.

What You'll Do
As a key part of our transportation and operations team, you'll:

Conduct and document thorough vehicle inspections (DVIRs) and maintain ELD logs
Hook up, disconnect, back up, and secure trailers, and manage load tie-downs

Perform equipment fueling, fluid checks, and basic vehicle maintenance

As a Route Delivery Driver, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of Culligan drinking water and associated products to customers on a predetermined route. This role will be customer-facing and requires the Driver to consult with customers to determine the products and/or amount of products necessary to meet their need. What you'll do:
Route planning and execution:
Prepare the delivery vehicle each day before leaving the warehouse to ensure it is loaded correctly; familiarize yourself with the route layout and customers' requests to complete the scheduled route.
Complete all deliveries on route as scheduled.
Ensure route optimization by identifying challenges or roadblocks ahead of time to complete the route in the most efficient manner.
Customer service:
Interact with customers while representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
Address customer questions or concerns during deliveries.
Product knowledge:
Develop a strong understanding of the products being delivered and the proper product handling associated with bottled water, PE tanks, salt, and additional products as applicable.
Provide information about products to customers when necessary.
Documentation:
Complete customer agreements and route sheets accurately and legibly.
Perform payment collection from customers; promptly turn in customer payments and daily activity sheets to the office staff at the end of each workday.
Adhere to the proper utilization of handheld palm units, while entering accurate information concerning the customer and abiding by all rules concerning its use.
Safety:
Operate delivery vehicles safely; adhere to traffic rules and DOT regulations.
Perform Daily Vehicle Inspections (DVIR's) and report any issues to management.
Where you'll work:
Culligan Drivers spend much of their time out in the field delivering to both commercial and residential customers - this means you'll spend extensive time driving and getting in and out of the route truck. Our drivers deliver in rain or shine and must be comfortable being exposed to various weather conditions. This role is labor intensive and requires strong physical stamina.
