The Gurney Van Driver will operate a gurney van equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired individuals to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, private homes, dialysis units, doctor's offices, rehabilitation centers, etc. in a safe and timely manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Picks up patients at home or other facility. Provides the assistance required to safely board patients and caregivers. • Operates Stryker gurney as needed for safe and comfortable patient transportation. • On arrival at medical facility, assists patients in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas. • Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind. • Provides first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Class A Linehaul Driver to transport freight between company terminals or customer locations. This is a no-touch freight role, and drivers return home daily. You will play a key role in ensuring timely, efficient deliveries while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and excellent customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities No Touch Freight: Transport freight without handling or loading/unloading. Safety Compliance: Follow all required safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). DOT Compliance: Accurately complete pre- and post-trip inspections, driver logs, and all necessary service reports. Timely Deliveries: Ensure on-time pickups and deliveries to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with dispatch and terminal personnel, reporting any delays, incidents, or route changes. Requirements Minimum Requirements Experience: 1+ years of Class A driving experience required. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. License: Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions. Endorsements: Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples (or willingness to obtain within 90 days). Driving Record: Clean driving record is required. Screening: Ability to pass a background check and DOT drug screen Compensation Compensation: $30.00 - $31.00 an hour, based on experience and location. Classification: Non-Exempt, subject to all applicable state and federal laws. Work Environment This is a full-time, at-will position with variable hours, typically night shifts. Linehaul drivers benefit from consistent meet-and-turn routes, no-touch freight, and daily home time. Physical Requirements: Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move loads that may weigh up to 50 pounds or more, often multiple times a day. Pushing and Pulling: Capability to push and pull products, sometimes using hand trucks or pallet jacks, often up to 2500 pounds with assistance. Standing and Walking: Frequent standing and walking around the vehicle and in and out of customer locations throughout the day. Bending, Kneeling, and Crouching: Regular bending, kneeling, or crouching for loading, unloading, and securing cargo. Endurance and Stamina: Ability to sit for long hours while driving and work extended shifts, sometimes up to 10-12 hours. Adaptability to Weather Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions, and extreme temperatures, as well as adjust driving and loading/unloading practices to ensure safety in these environments. Load truck safely to protect products from damage during transport. Ensure accurate loading order of items to meet delivery specifications. * Operations Planning & Communication: Attend pre-delivery meetings to review logistics, timelines, and client expectations, contributing to smooth and successful event execution. Maintain regular communication with the operations team and/or district service representatives to report and/or resolve any issues and ensure efficient operations. * Truck inspections: Complete Pre and post trip truck inspections. Clean and prep trucks for future shifts. * Documentation and service logs: Complete all required written documentation. Effectively operate an electronic logging device and accurately maintain all records of duty as determined by FMCSA. * Driving: Drive tractor-trailers, box trucks, or sprinter vans on delivery routes for company benefit in a safe and lawful manner. * Deliveries: Install and assemble furniture at tradeshow or event venues based on floor plans or client instructions, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and aesthetic presentation. Clean, touch up, or perform repairs as needed. Use show site mobile app to ensure and document accurate delivery. * Pick-ups: Inspect furniture for any customer-inflicted damage, load in trucks. Ensure no product is left behind at venues. * Provide onsite customer service: Interact professionally with clients during deliveries and setups, addressing questions or concerns and ensuring a positive experience. * Supervise temporary labor: Instruct temporary associates how and where to deliver, pickup, load, or unload products onsite. Ensure that work is being performed as per the clients' requests and safely. * Perform warehouse duties as needed: Manually load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, and docks. Put items away and organize within the warehouse.
