- Work closely with Mental Health Skills building staff and Case Managers to ensure effective person-centered wraparound services that are consistent with the overall service goals for the individual.
- Assist/train in community integration needs to include scheduled appointments, social and recreational activities, shopping trips, banking needs, pharmacy, food banks, and other agency and community programs.

* Must be willing to work hours, which coincide with the individual's needs.

Southampton County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and energetic Kindergarten Paraprofessional to join our team at Meherrin Elementary School. The Kindergarten Paraprofessional will work closely with the Kindergarten Teacher to assist in the classroom, supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of young learners. This role provides valuable assistance in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Kindergarten Teacher in implementing daily lessons and activities in alignment with the curriculum.
Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students during academic, social, and play activities.
Help manage the classroom environment by promoting positive behaviors and fostering student participation.
Support students with various tasks, such as completing assignments, transitioning between activities, and developing social skills.
Prepare classroom materials and assist with organizing activities to enhance the learning experience.
Monitor and document student progress, communicating observations to the teacher.
Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Collaborate with the teacher and staff to create an inclusive, supportive environment for all students.
Participate in professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree or higher, or completion of at least 60 college credits preferred.
Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is highly desired.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with young children.
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff members.
Must pass a background check and meet other state and district requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with early childhood or Kindergarten-aged students.
Knowledge of classroom management strategies and early childhood development.
