This position reports to the Gas Operations Manager and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS). Job Description
This position is located at a Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility
Position Purpose:
Work is performed in industrial settings including: assembly plants, metal fabrication plants, refineries, and power train plants. Collect, sort and transport disposables and recyclables including: trash, hazardouswaste, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout a facility to designated container and location.
Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
Perform job duties in a safe manner compliant with policies, procedures and practices.
Maintain a safe, neat and clean work environment this includes: work area, equipment, locker rooms, break rooms, and office areas.
Model professional behavior at all times; report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to work.
Collect trash, recyclables and hazardouswaste from various locations throughout the facility.
Breakdown scrap parts for repair or recycling
Transport waste/recyclables to disposal container and/or storage location.
Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill or recycling center.
Maintain storage areas, and drum pads in accordance to regulations.
Document and inform the manager or designated person of any contamination in recycling containers.
Complete reports and documentation correctly and submit timely as directed.
Participate in meetings to access the work environment for safety and effectiveness.
Operate equipment safely and compliant with policies including: fork-trucks, tuggers, and transport carts.
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and safety checks on mobile equipment before and after operating; report any defects appropriately and timely.
Demonstrate a commitment to learning and development; stay current of safe work practices, policies and regulations.
Work effectively in a team environment and provide support and assistance to others.
Commitment to promoting and creating a safety culture and positive work environment.
Perform other job duties as requested to support the business operations.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
High School diploma or GED
Experience operating a forklift or similar equipment desired
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Able to read and understand instructions in English
Push/pull and frequently lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Manual dexterity to manipulate small hand tools, pick up and sort small parts.
Lift, carry, push or pull equipment of various size, shape, and weight.
Able to sit periodically and for extended periods of time, climb ladders/stairs, reach below knees and above shoulders, kneel and crawl to access work areas.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping, able to reach forward and grasp equipment
Ability to balance and walk on wet and slick surfaces, metal grates, narrow platforms, and uneven surfaces.
Work in loud, cold, hot, wet and dry environments.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
Valid Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
Successfully complete drug screen and pre-employment physical, safety sensitive background check.
