What You'll Do: Analytical Testing: Conduct routine quantitative and qualitative analytical tests on various samples to evaluate their physical and chemical characteristics. Equipment Operation: Operate, maintain, and calibrate standard and specialized laboratory equipment, such as chromatographs and spectrometers. Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform precise measurements and calculations, analyze test results, and accurately document all findings in laboratory notebooks and management systems (LIMS). Quality & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all quality assurance protocols, safety procedures, and company policies to ensure the integrity of results and a safe working environment. Workflow Management: Manage testing priorities to meet weekly turnaround times while maintaining the highest quality of results in a production-oriented setting. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field. Demonstrated hands-on experience performing analytical tests in a laboratory environment.     Job Description Laboratory Manager - Assistant 1.0 Corporate Job Title Laboratory Manager - Assistant 2.0 Reporting Relationships Lab Manager for day-to-day laboratory responsibilities Assist the Manager and coordinates laboratory functions for the branch. Provides guidance, leadership and training to laboratory staff on routine matters. 4.0 Minimum Requirements • Requires a B.S. (preferable Chemistry degree) with a minimum of five years general laboratory experience or three years' experience in a petroleum laboratory. • Must be able to distinguish color. Must pass pulmonary test for respirator use. 5.0 Responsibilities • Acts as the liaison between Laboratory Coordinator and general laboratory staff with respective Branch Manager, Operations Department and Laboratory Director. • Works closely with Operations Department to obtain day-to-day analytical testing requirements based upon nominations received from clients in order to provide accurate, reliable results on a timely basis. Works directly with customers for laboratory submitted samples if required. • Ensures that laboratory staff and visitors follow all documented safety requirements as defined by the company safety program. • Uses judgment and discretion in directing, coordinating and scheduling the work activities of laboratory staff consistent with accepted operating practices and procedures, including periods during non-working hours, weekends and holidays. • Receives, compiles, and verifies the data resulting from laboratory analyses and ensures accurate and complete preparation of applicable reports as per standard procedures. • Works with laboratory staff to analyze and compile round robin and quality control sample results to ensure operating efficiency of process and/or testing equipment. • Ensures the laboratory has the equipment and supplies necessary to meet customer demands and established quality program. • Ensures that laboratory staff is qualified to perform necessary testing and meets the training refresher training requirements of the quality system. • Ensures Test Method Assessments (TMA's) are conducted as per the required procedure and schedule. • Using advanced knowledge gained in the laboratory, identifies the root causes of quality system problems (customer, specifications or Camin Cargo system) in respective areas of responsibility and uses good judgment to independently troubleshoot, initiate, recommend, and/or implement timely solutions to the problems. 6.0 Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands Workday may consist of 8-12 hours however this can vary day to day and shift to shift. Some of the retain work is performed outdoors, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and could include possible exposure to high and low temperatures for a prolonged duration of time. Laboratory work is normally performed indoors under climate-controlled conditions.
