    Clean Harbors is seeking a Traveling Field Project Manager to join our team. The Field Project Manager is primarily responsible for estimating remediation projects. This position will manage 1-6 projects in all phases of the project. This employee will work from home but will travel as much as is needed to manage customers and the field teams working on current projects. Typical travel pattern is field based for 6 weeks and then home for 1 week. Soil Construction/Soil Remediation project experience required. Location: Arizona is preferred. All other West Coast locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Physical Requirements This position is physically demanding, and candidates must be able to navigate varying site conditions where steep slopes and rugged terrain may be present and walk several miles per day. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and wear personal protective equipment that may restrict movement, when required. Requires walking and standing for extended periods of time, sitting in equipment that may vibrate or jostle, climbing and working at heights, pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping, crouching, and balance. Requires speaking, listening, understanding, and writing English; color determination, depth perception, clarity of vision, and 20/20 eyesight (corrected or uncorrected). Maintains a clean and organized work environment, and a clean personal appearance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position is very much one of being a working supervisor. While supervising contracted personnel, both professional and hands-on, the individual is expected to maintain a sizable project load. Direct or oversight responsibility for many of the capital projects undertaken at Vantage Oleochemicals. The normal flow of events in a project may include: completion of project design and developing a firm cost estimate, firm project design and a commitment on equipment, developing bid packages and going to contractors for bids on equipment and installation, coordinating and checking the actual construction, start-up and modifications of finished equipment and an Advice of Physical Completion for the project, and recommending routing maintenance, spare parts, listing necessary information and a financial closing (over or under estimate and why). May act as a Field Construction Manager or, in some cases, the Commissioning Manager. In the area of technical assistance, the incumbent investigates problems of a production, maintenance or technical nature, such as equipment failure or a process bottleneck. Problem Solving: Study existing situations (equipment, processes, manufacturing procedures, etc.), considering possible improvements or modifications, and preparing reports complete with conclusions and recommendations as a result of studies. Incumbent plans or assist in planning the approach to projects or segments of projects assigned by supervisor and for plant turnarounds. When assigned complete responsibility for small projects, supervises and participates in all aspects of the projects from inception to start-up (designs, estimates, calculations, test runs, etc.) and resolves all problems encountered. Works routinely with other department heads and managers to assist in formulation of Vantage Oleochemicals' capital plan and refines proposals for submittal. Collaborate cross-functionally to select a primary LMS to house training materials and help administer training efforts. Serve as a player-coach, actively participating in training delivery when needed and modeling best practices for the team. Partner cross-functionally with Business Integration, IT, HR, and Operations to ensure training aligns with company objectives and integration requirements. Evaluate training effectiveness, identify process improvements, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate training documentation and records to ensure compliance with company policies and standards. Collaborate with communications and change management partners to deliver clear, empathetic messaging that supports engagement and trust during integration and onboarding. Champion operational excellence by identifying, prioritizing, and executing key improvement initiatives within the training function. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Information Systems, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in training, learning & development, or ERP/business process implementation. Experience managing and developing training teams, preferably in a player-coach capacity. Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage DM2) and related applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to travel up to 30% to support acquisition integrations and training delivery.
