The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing direction, either directly or indirectly, to a group of technicians to ensure that all repairs and maintenance to Republic Services' equipment, including trucks, containers and other heavy duty equipment, are performed in compliance with the Company's safety and maintenance standards, and in compliance with all federal and state regulations. The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning and scheduling the repair work for his or her work group to ensure that all work is done in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity within the shop. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direction to all technician levels, as well as the lead technicians, in the maintenance shop and may manage a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor in a satellite maintenance shop or on another shift, assigned to his or her work group to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed is a safe, efficient and timely manner. What You Will Do * Engineering support: supporting engineers with design, prototyping, production, and testing * Lab maintenance: keeping the lab organized, ensuring instrument calibration, and maintaining test setups * Procurement: ordering parts, materials, and instruments, tracking inventories, and managing components used in R&D lab * Rework: assisting in modifying or repairing PCB boards, fiber optic assemblies, and/or electronic components * Test equipment management: setting up, labeling, maintaining, calibrating, and scheduling the use of test instruments * Optical/electrical testing: running measurements, and collecting data * Shipping process: working with shipping department for vendors/customers/our purchases Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Associates Degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field * At least 5 years of hands-on experience in an electronic or testing lab * Experience with optical transceivers * Understanding of basic electrical principles * Experience managing inventory * Experience calibrating equipment * Experience running electronic tests What Will Put You Ahead * Experience working with Optical Transceivers * Laboratory experience or equivalent experience working with optical transceivers or optical communication systems is highly desired For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 - $120,000 per year.
