Progression
Team members will be assessed on their progression and capabilities through an annual evaluation or an out of cycle evaluation. For the annual evaluation, team members will complete a self-evaluation, while their supervisor will also complete an annual review. The process is imitated for the out of cycle evaluation. Once the self and supervisor evaluations are completed, the performance evaluation is reviewed by the workforce development planning group with respect to the areas of safety, quality, customer service, training record, hours of equipment operation and years in position/tenure. Kwest General superintendents and the director of field operations will recommend for a team member's classification compensation advancement or reclassification. Kwest Group president will review each recommendation and give the final approval for a classification compensation advancement or reclassification. An approved recommendation is then forwarded to the Director of HR for execution of advancement or reclassification. The team member's foreman and general superintendent will discuss with the team member regarding their evaluation and any change in compensation or classification.
Education and Qualifications
* Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
* The average work week would consist of 5 ten-hour days, but schedule will be dictated by project needs.
* ust be able to work out of town, sometimes out of state, and for lengths of time, such as the job would dictate.
* A high school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate is preferred.
* Your skills and certifications are valuable, and Kwest recognizes it. Any special certifications or skills that are constructive to the position responsibilities will be taken into consideration when reviewing wage classification.

How you'll contribute

Summary:
Perform many different tasks, such as, clean-up, demolition, and stocking materials. Ensures that all trades on the project have what is needed to complete the job.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Load, transport, unload, and furnish Journeyman with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.

To qualify for a Maintenance Worker, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.
The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision: Perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as receive general guidance on assignments, which may include routine maintenance on heating, refrigeration and air units; carpentry; painting; masonry; plumbing; or electrical.
Selective Placement Factor: The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and any Installation and/or DOD license required for the operation a variety of Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Applicants selected for this position will be required to undergo a driving test to be certified to operate a forklift. Failure to obtain and maintain a valid license and certifications will result in your in-eligibility for placement into this position or removal from this position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To be found well-qualified as an ICTAP applicant, individuals need to demonstrate the ability to perform the common tasks of the job to be filled as well as more complex duties such as: visual examination and operational test to determine the extent of the repair needed involving carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and operating motor vehicles (with gross weight under26,000 pounds.)
Physical Effort: Requires considerable standing, stooping, and bending; works on ladders and scaffolds which require overhead work or in stretches, cramped or awkward positons. Considerable arm movements are required when nailing and using such tools as planers and hand saws. Occasionally may lift and carry items weighing about 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Works in shop and outside in all kinds of weather. When working in shop, is subject to presence of sawdust, to cuts from hand or powered tools and danger from flying splinters and chips. Works on scaffolding and high ladders or rooftops when nailing and installing completed items. On an intermittent basis, the incumbent may be required to report for duty during the night or on weekends to perform snow or ice removal duties as a member of the DSCC snow removal crew. Duties require hand shoveling of snow form walks and steps, operation of: walking and riding type snow blowers, tractor with bucket, and tractor with snow blade attachment, front end loader, or 5 ton dump truck with snow blade and salt spreader attachments. In anticipation of these duties, employee may be required to attend classes and be certified in the operation of the above vehicles and equipment.

Selected PPP MSP applicants will need to certify they have not accepted nor declined another offer of permanent, Federal employment (to include NAF and the military exchange services) since relocating to the military sponsor's current duty station.
Priority Placement Program (PPP) DoD Retained Grade Preference (RGP): In order to receive this preference, you must choose to apply using the "Priority Placement Program, DoD Retained Grade Preference (RGP)" eligibility. If you are claiming RGP and are determined to be Well Qualified (score of 85 or above) for the position, you will be referred to the hiring manager as a priority applicant. To be eligible as a RGP, you must submit the following supporting documents with your application package: a signed Retained Grade PPP Self-Certification Checklist (DD3145-1 (whs.mil)); a copy of your Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50) effecting the placement in retained grade status; or a copy of the notification letter you received regarding the RIF or classification downgrade.
