Job Description
This role is responsible for the successful construction and execution of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across PJM, NYISO, and ISO New England. Reporting directly to the EVP of Operations for CleanChoice Energy's Generation division, this leader will oversee all aspects of project execution from late-stage development through mechanical completion and turnover to operations.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Lead the internal EPC team responsible for building CleanChoice Energy's utility-scale generation portfolio.
Develop and implement execution strategies aligned with business objectives, budget, and schedule targets.
Build and scale organizational capabilities to support a growing pipeline of construction-ready projects.
Project Execution Oversight
Oversee day-to-day execution of construction activities for multiple concurrent projects.
Ensure all projects meet quality, safety, cost, and timeline goals.
Provide senior-level oversight of contractor performance, budget adherence, permitting compliance, and scheduling.
Team Management
Manage and mentor a high-performing team including EPC project managers, construction managers, site superintendents, and engineering support staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate closely with Development, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to transition projects from development to execution.
Serve as the key point of contact for executive leadership regarding construction progress and risk management.
Procurement & Contracting
Oversee procurement strategies for equipment and construction services, including negotiation and execution of EPC, procurement, and subcontractor agreements.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure contract compliance.
Risk & Compliance Management
Identify and mitigate project risks related to permitting, interconnection, environmental, labor, and supply chain.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local construction regulations and CleanChoice standards.
Qualifications
12+ years of experience in utility-scale solar or renewable energy construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record managing EPC execution for large-scale renewable energy projects in PJM, NYISO, and/or ISO-NE.
Deep understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, permitting, safety compliance, and contractor management.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing cross-functional execution teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree preferred. PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
Travel
CleanChoice Energy is a remote-first work environment with regular travel to project sites and CleanChoice offices as needed (estimated 25-40%).
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet critical deadlines or attend site visits.

The Senior Associate will be responsible for tracking regulatory and market rule changes, conducting interconnection risk assessments, and collaborating across internal teams.

Manage generator interconnection requests and support projects through study phases in SPP and WECC
Support Interconnection Agreement (IA) negotiations, review IA milestones, and coordinate with internal teams across development, engineering, and legal
Review Resource Solicitation Cluster Study (RSCS) reports to identify interconnection costs, network upgrades, contingent facilities, and potential affected systems
Maintain internal tracking of IA milestones, including interconnection costs, utility upgrade scopes, and financial security requirements
Review interconnection request submissions and associated financial models to ensure data accuracy and consistency
Monitor regulatory updates, stakeholder proceedings, and transmission planning activities
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely, cost-effective, and technically sound project interconnections.
Requirements:

3+ years of experience managing interconnection requests and study processes at an infrastructure developer, electric utility, transmission provider, or energy consulting firm, preferably in the Southeast

Strong understanding of OATT, transmission system planning, interconnection queue management, and regulatory frameworks such as FERC LGIP

As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be the lead project manager during the preconstruction phase of projects. You will manage RFPs, Estimates, design, BIM, procurement, budget, deliverables, and client relations until the project is turned over to the project management team. You will report to the Director.
Essential Job Functions
* Provide conceptual budgeting and tools to Business Development to facilitate accurate and efficient qualifying of projects.
* Coordinate the Estimating effort on bids, including front-end document review.
* Organize and lead bid reviews.
* Perform Estimating as needed to meet deadlines.
* Vendor and Subcontractor Management.
* Assist Business Development with legal and risk management on all contracts.
* Review and implement the technical strategy for proposals with BD and Sales Operations.
* Client correspondence
* Project interviews to represent budget approach and Precon management
* Identify cost impacts throughout the preconstruction phase and submit change orders.
* Provide VE and various client-requested pricing exercises
* Manage financials of engineering and BIM
* Populate billing SOV
* Establish project budget from the estimate
* Act as project manager during the preconstruction phase of projects.
* This can include the following responsibilities:
* Attend project meetings and have the client (GC) interfacing
* Coordinate with engineering, precon, and BIM
* Manage material releases
* Identify and price change orders
* Manage construction budget
* Delegate tasks to supporting team members
* Train and mentor team members
* Review deliverables for accuracy
* Lead estimate reviews
* Coordinate design activities with consultants, subcontractor partners, and clients.
* Work with the Group Manager of Preconstruction, developing best-in-class Preconstruction services for internal and external clients.
* Keep project leadership informed about all open or unresolved design issues and track design and cost changes during project design development.
* Participates in meetings and presentations to present the benefits of Miller Electric Preconstruction Services.
* Oversee the Development of designs, cost estimates, and value engineering solutions.
* Serve as the single point of contact for the Project Manager for all PreConstruction activities.
* Guide project managers during the design phase to ensure that construction activities comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
Education & Experience
REQUIRED
* Experience with electrical contracting and or MEP coordination
* Proficiency in electrical estimating and understanding of project budgeting
* Proficiency in ConEst, Google Workplace, Excel, and Bluebeam
* Experience in the management of design-build projects
* Verifiable experience in safe, reliable, and integrity-driven work habits, including working in an unsupervised field setting when appropriate
* A balance of technical knowledge and communications skills
* Ability to manage and train others
* Ability to build relationships with clients and communicate confidently in project interviews
PREFERRED
* Five or more years of experience as an electrical project manager
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead, direct, and manage the finance, accounting, human resources, and IT teams.
* Oversee accounting, credit/collections, budgeting, Sarbanes Oxley documentation, tax, treasury, purchasing, capital planning, forecasting, information systems, and financial reporting activities and functions for the organization.
* Lead the accounting team in developing and implementing procedures and ERP system applications to ensure accurate recordkeeping, strong internal controls, and effective support for operations management in making informed business decisions.
* Oversee the development and management of the company's annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and providing actionable insights to support executive decision-making. Maintains a deep understanding of the business and continuously monitors financial performance against the plan and forecast to ensure the organization stays on track.
* Conduct monthly WIP reviews with project managers and divisional leaders to evaluate job performance, assess risks, and proactively manage change orders.
* Conduct quarterly reviews of indirect budgets to ensure accurate job costing, full absorption of indirect costs, and timely updates to labor rates integrated into pricing and estimating tools.
* Analyze, consolidate, and direct all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical reporting to accurately report operational results.
* Partner with the leadership group to drive strategic planning, align financial objectives with organizational goals and provide data-driven insights to guide growth, investment, and risk mitigation.
* Monitor and report on financial performance by developing and evaluating Key Performance Indicators to proactively manage the business and mitigate emerging issues.
* Direct the activities surrounding custodian of funds and assets of the organization, including inventory control.
* Appraise the organization's financial position and issues periodic reports on organization's financial stability, profitability trending, cash flow, and targeted growth.
* Coordinate tax and risk management reporting programs to corporate.
* Coordinate with internal/external auditors, when applicable, to ensure successful engagement, provide requested materials/schedules, and information needed to support the audit.
* Direct and analyze studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations to identify business enhancements or resource rationalization.
* Analyze operational issues impacting functional groups or the whole institution, determining risk assessment, the financial impact, and ultimately actions required to mitigate such risks.
* Evaluate and recommend business partnering opportunities.
* Lead the development and maintenance of an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) to ensure effective response during business disruptions
* Oversee the proper handling of risk management claims against the company working with corporate risk management resources.
* SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct or indirect management of employees in handling Accounting/HR/IT functions. This position is responsible for the overall leadership, development, coordination, and evaluation for these functions. It carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; managing performance; and addressing issues that arise.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting related field required, Master's degree or CPA or equivalent professional certifications preferred
* Minimum of 8 years Accounting / Finance experience
* Previous VP of Finance, Controller, or CFO experience required
* Previous experience in HVAC or like Construction / Services related industries required
* Experience with percentage-of-completion project (WIP) accounting
* Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley
