SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: If required on the job, possession of an appropriate California operator's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles; maintain a driving record acceptable for coverage under District vehicle insurance programs. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: - Methods of cleaning and preserving floors, walls and fixtures; - Cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work; - Common tools and their use; - Safe work practices. AND Ability to: - Maintain assigned buildings and areas in a clean and orderly condition; - Use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency; - Perform heavy manual work; - Operate power cleaning equipment with skill and safety; - Understand and follow work schedules as well as oral and/or written directions; - Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work. AND Training and experience: - Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain such knowledge and abilities would be: One year of custodial, janitorial or related work experience.
