EMI is seeking a Utility Cleaner Lead to support custodial operations at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. This is a working lead position that plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of communal spaces, restrooms, work areas, and exterior zones. The Utility Cleaner Lead works under the direction of the Project Manager/Site Lead and is responsible for coordinating daily custodial tasks and ensuring service quality through hands-on execution and reporting in compliance with contractual obligations.
Salary
$34.86/ hr. plus employer paid health benefits and pension!
Key Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager/Site Lead by coordinating daily custodial assignments and reporting task completion
Maintain awareness of supply inventory and communicate restocking needs
Collaborates with the Quality Manager to ensure custodial tasks meet established performance standards and inspection criteria
Supports quality assurance efforts by reporting cleanliness findings and assisting with corrective actions as directed by the Quality Manager
Perform cleaning duties including:
Mopping tile and concrete floors; vacuuming carpeted areas
Sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors
Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, breakrooms, kitchens, and drinking fountains
Emptying trash receptacles and maintaining exterior cleanliness
Dusting furniture, equipment, blinds, and fixtures
Cleaning entrances, exits, and exterior/interior glass surfaces
Maintaining floors
Report facility damage, vandalism, or maintenance needs to the Project Manager/Site Lead
Operate cleaning equipment such as electric buffers, vacuums, and wringers
Safely mix and use cleaning chemicals per instructions
Ensure cleaning materials are stored properly and safely
Assist with furniture movement and relocation as needed
Follow all safety protocols and site-specific regulations
Perform other position-related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
Familiarity with standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment
Understanding of the Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS)
Ability to read and follow instructions, especially regarding chemical use
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Top Secret Clearance required
SCI eligibility required
1 year custodial experience in the last three years
including floor care-stripping, waxing, buffing
Valid Driver's License compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Regular, dependable attendance
U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Preferred Qualifications
TS/SCI clearance
Experience in a lead or coordination role
Physical Requirements
