Uses mops, brushes, detergents, buffers, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning implements to wash floors, corridors, stairs and stairwells, walls, partitions, windows from the inside of buildings, etc. Using appropriate equipment such as ladders and scaffolds, replaces light bulbs, dusts and/or washes light fixtures and high places such as ceilings. Interacts appropriately with customers. If further assistance is required, notifies supervisors. Using manual and/or mechanical equipment, strips and vacuums and waxes floors and shampoos carpets. Using hand-dusting equipment, dusts assigned areas. Using designated equipment, polishes wood and metal fixtures and equipment. Using manual and/or mechanical equipment, occasionally removes snow and ice on outdoor walkways and staircases. Strips the wax from furniture; cleans and polishes furniture. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission. Special Notes: These are full-time positions, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated facility areas of our Amityville manufacturing facility for appearance and sanitation. Candidate must be comfortable with moderate physical activity for extended periods and ensure proper upkeep of the location's appearance. Responsibilities Floor Cleaning: Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in various areas, including offices, hallways, and common rooms. Dusting & Surface Cleaning: Dust light fixtures, furniture, countertops, and other surfaces as needed. Trash Removal: Empty trash cans and dispose of waste in common areas and workspaces. Kitchen & Bathroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, and other basic fixtures in kitchens and restrooms. Window & Glass Cleaning: Wash windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces. Supplies Coordination: Ensure that cleaning products are adequately stocked and notify the manager when replenishments are needed. Breakage & Maintenance Reporting: Report any breakages or damages observed during cleaning and inform the manager of maintenance needs. Requirements Proven experience in a similar role preferred. Ability to use a variety of cleaning products and equipment. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision. Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks with strong attention to detail. Must understand and execute food safety and sanitation protocols. Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills. Physical ability to stand for long periods of time.
