    Apply for JobJob ID696632 Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Add to Favorite JobsEmail this Job What Your Job Will Be Like We are seeking a CUSTODIAN II On any given day, you may be called on to: Perform a full range of custodial duties and related assignments in a special-access exclusion area of the Laboratories Scrub and wax tile floors, clean carpets, and clean specialized office equipment and classified areas within the exclusion area Continuously walk and stand, occasionally lift up to 57.5 lbs., and regular exposure to dust, dirt, and moisture Qualifications We Require Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance and SIGMA security requirements Completion of Team Cleaning Boot Camp Ability to work in a sensitive area which requires special-access clearance, perform custodial task such as: sweep, strip, wax, polish tile floors, vacuum, shampoo, and remove spots and stains from carpets; dust furniture, exhibits, and office equipment, clean chalk boards; and wash windows and walls as conditions require As directed, dismantle, clean, and reassemble removable parts of equipment such as film processors, artist air brushes, and various items of laboratory equipment Perform various other assigned duties within the special-access area such as: assisting in the preparation of classified areas for delivery outside the Laboratories; preparing conference rooms for meetings; moving classified exhibits from repository conference room and returning them to the repository after meetings: and prepare list of needed custodial supplies Qualifications We Require Applicants must meet the minimum pre-requisites to be scheduled for testing. The applicant will be contacted and scheduled for the next available test date. All applicants must be prepared to test upon application submittal. Once successful testing has been completed, the hiring manager will be notified. Full consideration will not be given to applicants that have not met all the pre-requisites including testing. Interviews will not be scheduled until the applicant has successfully test-qualified and has been selected by the manager as a top applicant. Passing the test does not guarantee an interview or a selection. If the applicant is not able to schedule testing within the time constraints of the position posting, selection timelines, and the available test dates, they will not be considered for the position. Duties and Responsibilities: (depending on specific assignment, duties and responsibilities listed may include, but are not limited to the following) * Cleaning Functions: * Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and refinish floors; clean, dust and polish furniture; wash windows and walls; clean restrooms, dispose of trash, change lights, etc.; make certain all areas of the building are kept in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition according to industry and/or district standards. * Pick up litter within the schools and on school grounds. * Assure safety during inclement weather to include shoveling, salting, providing slip protection on wet floors, securing against wind damage, snow removal from rooftops, remove debris from down spouts when clogged, etc. * Applies cleaning chemicals according to established safety procedures. * Adheres to safety measures for cleaning, lifting, moving, and operating equipment. * Performs minor repair and maintenance as authorized by district maintenance staff. * Removes extraneous dirt/marking from interior and exterior vertical/horizontal surfaces (walls, doors, etc.) * Advise building principal/Maintenance Department on matters relating to mechanical equipment and/or building maintenance. * Performs minor painting to walls, rails, playgrounds, and other areas of the school. * Keeps all equipment in a good state of repair and cleanliness. * Administrative Functions: * Initiate maintenance service request according to district procedures. Follows through to assure that maintenance is performed in a timely manner. * Maintains inventory and request cleaning supplies and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks. * Maintains awareness of energy conservation and make suggestions of methods and procedures to consider energy. * Secures equipment and supplies and protects against pilferage, loss, theft, or abuse. * Required to follow board policies and stay abreast of updates and changes. * Safety and Security: * Periodically inspects, otherwise maintains awareness of facility and equipment to detect and prevent injuries or damage. * Always secures school buildings to ensure proper security. * Verifies that emergency equipment is maintained and replaced/repaired as needed. * Assists implementing emergency planning and response. * Performs all other duties as assigned. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet/ and or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. * It may be expected that the individual could be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials or illnesses during their duties.
