We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tank Cleaning Technician Lead to oversee and coordinate tank, vessel, and pond cleaning operations in the oil and gas sector. The Tank Cleaning Technician Lead will manage a team of technicians, ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and drive operational excellence. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in industrial cleaning activities.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train a team of Tank Cleaning Technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Cleaning Operations Oversight: Plan, coordinate, and oversee cleaning of tanks, vessels, ponds, and related equipment using high-pressure water jetting, vacuum systems, chemical cleaning agents, and other specialized tools to remove hazardous materials such as oil, sludge, and chemical residues.
Safety Management: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA, EPA, and company-specific regulations. Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), lead safety briefings, and enforce confined space entry and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Equipment Management: Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and operation of cleaning equipment, including pumps, hoses, nozzles, and vacuum trucks, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Quality Control: Perform pre- and post-cleaning inspections to ensure tanks and vessels meet operational and regulatory standards. Verify work quality and address any deficiencies promptly.
Waste Management Compliance: Supervise the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan cleaning operations, minimize downtime, and meet project deadlines.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on cleaning activities, safety incidents, equipment status, and team performance. Maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance and client audits.
Emergency Response: Lead spill response and emergency cleaning operations, coordinating rapid and effective mitigation of environmental and safety risks.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve cleaning processes, enhance safety measures, and increase operational efficiency, implementing best practices where applicable.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelors degree in industrial maintenance, environmental technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial cleaning within the oil and gas sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Certifications:
Confined Space Entry Certification.
HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Certification.
OSHA 30-hour General Industry Certification required.
Valid drivers license; CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in operating and troubleshooting high-pressure water jetting systems, vacuum trucks, and other industrial cleaning equipment.
Expertise in chemical cleaning agents and their safe application.

Clinical Staff:
1. Clinical staff will wear scrubs or appropriate business casual dress. Care should be taken when laundering uniforms to maintain a professional appearance. Hospice of Midland royal blue or Hospice of Odessa red are the designated uniform colors.
2. Fingernails must be clean, well-cared for, and of a length that does not interfere with safe patient care. Artificial nails are prohibited for clinical staff for general safety and infection control purposes.
3. Any jewelry worn should be minimal, and for safety reasons, should not hang loosely.
Office Staff:
1. Office staff should wear business casual every day except Friday. Hospice of Midland or Rays of Hope T-shirts are allowed on casual Friday.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
Candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering large and complex programs
Experience in clean energy projects: wind, solar, storage, nuclear projects with owner/operator, consultancy, developer or EPC delivery
Demonstratable technical competence and skill in procurement and category management, cost and commercial management, estimating, project controls, scheduling, or project management
Cross functional team participation in a dynamic environment
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to work in a client facing environment and deliver results while ensuring client satisfaction.
Passionate about solving complex challenges
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
