The Custodial staff are responsible ensuring all assigned areas of the College are cleaned, sanitized and maintained at the highest standard. Springfield College invites applications for the position of a Custodian. Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to degrees attained, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities * Current work schedule is primarily 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with flexibility. * Duties include maintain buildings and other assigned areas of the College facilities in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition. Sweep, scrub, mop, clean, wax and apply finish to floors of rooms, hallways, stairs, and fire escapes; vacuum carpeted areas. Clean and dust walls, lockers, furniture, and fixtures; clean chalkboards and whiteboards. * Clean, wash, and scrub toilets and other plumbing fixtures; wash windows. Sweep walks and asphalt areas; dispose of rubbish. * Maintain instructional and custodial stock rooms. * Move supplies, furniture, and equipment. * Perform cleaning and disinfecting duties to keep the buildings neat and clean at all times. * Clean and sanitize bathrooms, clean glass, dust, remove graffiti and clean other surfaces to prepare building for occupancy and to maintain them at an acceptable level. * Restock cleaning and paper supplies as needed. * Empty waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish and recycling. * Move furniture and arrange chairs, tables and other equipment as necessary. * Demonstrate proper judgment in behavior, speech, and dress in a neat, clean, and appropriate professional manner for the assignment and work setting. * Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, have initiative, be a self-starter, and strong attention to detail. * Must be able to work as a team member effectively with other personnel. * Willingness to perform other work as required by the department and Facilities Maintenance. * This position is also part of the severe weather response team. Custodial staff are required to participate in snow removal throughout campus, including but not limited to plowing, shoveling, clearing snow ice from walks, stairs, pathways, and roads, and being available for emergencies and scheduled "off hour" work as needed. Qualifications * A minimum of one-year experience and/or any combination of training, experience, and/or education sufficient to perform the necessary duties. Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English. * Must be able to work in extreme weather-related temperatures and conditions as needed. * Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to walking around campus, climbing stairs, climbing short ladders, lifting/carrying heavy objects and working in confined spaces. * Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift over fifty (50+) pounds. Must be able to work off a lift, scaffolding, and/or ladder (over 30ft above the floor in some cases). * Ability to consistently stand/walk for up to 8hrs per day, frequent repeated bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling. Conditions will vary from indoor, outdoor, and field environments in all weather conditions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES: * Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all public areas, restrooms, offices, and meeting rooms. * Clean and restock restrooms regularly throughout the day. * Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste according to center procedures. * Checking the outside of the facility and parking area has no hazards and remains orderly, including but not limited to outside trash bins, washing down walkways, alerting management to parking issues, etc. * Ensure vendors complete assigned maintenance tasks as scheduled. * Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, hanging items, patching holes, unclogging drains, reporting damage). * Conduct monthly inspections of the building and document findings. * Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for events, classes, or meetings. * Ensure all entrances, hallways, and emergency exits are clean and free of obstructions. * Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed. * Follow health and safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals. * Lock/unlock facilities as required. * Respond promptly to custodial-related requests or facility emergencies. * Assist with seasonal cleaning and special deep-cleaning projects. * Other duties as assigned. PQI Functions: * Ensure the consistent accurate collection of the data * Identify patterns and trends of administrative services * Use results of data to inform supervisor of trends that may impact services QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods. * Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safe usage. * Good time management and ability to work independently or with a team. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment. The Houseperson helps ensure the overall success of the hotel by meeting or exceeding the guest and associate expectations for hotel cleanliness. The Houseperson cleans public areas, the hotel's lobby, sets up and breaks down event spaces, and maintains employee spaces to hotel standards. The Houseperson will support daily housekeeping and laundry tasks. This role must always be courteous, positive, and helpful to all guests and other associates. SUMMARY: Professionally clean customer homes using Merry Maids' unique cleaning procedures and products. Overall objectives are to leave the home looking and smelling freshly cleaned and groomed. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability preferred for the position. PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to drive to and from various job sites as needed. * Ability to withstand regular physical contact with dog and cat hair, mold, dust, mildew and cleaning solutions. * Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds of equipment in and out of an average of 4 homes a day, but as many as 6 homes a day. This may include climbing stairs while carrying equipment. Ability to load and unload equipment from cars. * Ability to perform wet-work on the knees 60% of working time to clean kitchen and bathroom floors, showers and tubs; wipe countertops at waist height 20% of the time; bend for toilets and finishing showers and tubs at knee height 10% of the time; and reach shoulder height or above 10% of the time to finish the rooms. * Perform dry-work with the ability to reach, pull, and stoop to make beds 5% of the time; reach, lift and pull to operate a vacuum cleaner that weighs up to 12 pounds 60% of the time; carry and operate a portable vacuum that weighs 6 pounds (and can be strapped diagonally across the shoulder) 15% of the time; dust furniture from floor to overhead 20% of the time. Dusting will involve bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and moving small furniture.
