EQUIPMENT USED: Safety harness with lanyard and other personal protective equipment, various ladders, a multi-meter to determine voltage, power tools and hand tools. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have 2 years minimum electrical experience Ability to climb and work safely at elevated heights, 60 feet or more. Read blueprints and schematic. Ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems. Electrical candidate should be a licensed electrician or be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to meet the definition of a qualified person in a sign/billboard work environment. JOB OVERVIEW Provides essential support during load-ins and strikes and serves as a follow-spot operator during performances. This is a foundational role focused on the physical execution of lighting designs. REQUIREMENTS Operate spotlights as assigned and perform show-run duties as directed by the Head Electrician or Stage Manager. Maintain up-to-date paperwork for each production, including plot and show run sheets Assist in the hang, focus, and strike of lighting and projection equipment. Complete pre-show checks and post-show shutdowns; assist in cleaning and maintaining fixtures and the lighting booth. Aid in the construction of specialty items and the organization of the electrics shop. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting fixtures and safety procedures. Previous experience operating follow-spots in a professional or educational setting. Ability to follow complex cues and maintain concentration during performances. Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
