Clearfield City company history timeline
From the beginning of Mormon settlement in 1847, the pioneers set about wresting a green land from the deserts, gradually supplementing their crops with the products of industry and the earth.
The Utah Central Railroad first entered the area in 1869.
Clearfield, city, Davis county, northern Utah, United States, at an altitude of 4,487 feet (1,368 metres). Founded in 1877 as a farming centre, it is mainly a residential community and suburb of Ogden and Salt Lake City, with some industrialization.
Richard and Emily Hamblin settled in the area now known as Clearfield in 1877.
The Woods Cross Canning Cooperative was begun in 1892.
Utah became the 45th member of the union on January 4, 1896.
In 1905 the Bamberger Electric, another railroad, took passengers between Ogden and Salt Lake City, stopping in Clearfield.
The construction of the Air Force base began in 1940 and the facility eventually stretched along the eastern border of Clearfield.
