Clearwater Research company history timeline
In 1976, John Risley and Colin MacDonald founded Clearwater Seafoods with a pickup truck, a tremendous vision and a lot of entrepreneurial drive.
In 1977 the Lochsa Research Natural Area was created to encompass and protect these unusual species.
As a temporary measure, a "Twig" was opened in 1978 in the training room of Fire Station #5 by the Clearwater Mall.
The collection was renamed in her honor upon her retirement from the library in 1982.
The City Council approved a .25 millage increase for construction of an East Library, which was opened to the public in 1985.

The grand opening was May 1, 2004.
