The Lead Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing services and periodically assisting in the updating of policies and procedures related to nursing services and functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensures continual delivery of high-quality nursing care
* Adopts and implements innovative nursing practices to improve the facility
* Ensures that surgical staff remains in compliance with professional development, Company, and regulatory standards
* Maintains a healthy, collaborative team environment
* Mentors/trains all nursing staff
* Ensures and maintains proper documentation of all facility reporting and surgical logs
* Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
* Ensures facilities have medical supplies and inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies. Ensures supply orders are submitted for fulfillment.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
* Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
* Fills in for nursing vacancies, as needed; performing the roles and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse
* Coordinates annual influenza vaccinations
* Monitors all aspects of patient care. Actively responds to and reports on all reported patient infections
* Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies
* Deals compassionately, professionally, and courteously with patients, their families, physicians, and fellow employees
* Follows compliance, safety and infection control procedures and ensures all nursing staff do the same
* Adheres to all federal, state and nursing regulations and protocols including but not limited to patient safety procedures such as verification of patient identification prior to procedures
* Ensures that immediately prior to the start of any procedure in the procedure room, initiate a time-out and ensure correct patient, procedure, site and side, and that there are no additional concerns.
* Identifies every patient with three identifiers: full name, date of birth, and zip code
* Documents this information in the Procedure Safety Checklist, including the time of the time-out
* Identifies an emergency situation and is able to appropriately intervene
* Understands and administers regulatory policies (i.e.: Joint Commission, CDC, and State)
* Deploys, monitors, and ensure that the facilities operational processes are appropriately integrated within the facilitys quality programs
* Implements a program of job-based orientation, training, and on-going evaluation for all employees
* Promotes the implementation of positive customer relations by the employees and physicians
* Oversees and ensures that daily, quarterly, annual and QAPI reports, Quarterly Drills and paperwork are completed and submitted
* Oversees and ensures that daily/quarterly/annual binders/logs are up to date
* Identifies areas that require additional reinforcement through education, consultation, or practicum
* Has working knowledge of all equipment and procedures
* Ensures appropriate staffing levels through the maintenance of the nursing schedule
* Creates, maintains and updates reports, as directed
* Actively participates in safety, infection control, and quality control committees/meetings
* Undergoes annual competencies specific to safety surveillance and monitoring
* Completes quarterly peer reviews and hand-washing assessments for assigned facilities
* Manages and maintains the Emergency/Disaster preparedness procedures
* Manages all incident reporting for assigned facilities
* Manages radiation badge supply and assignments
* Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday
* Participates in and complete all required trainings and in-services
* Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
* Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study.
* Three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one (1) year in an administrative nursing role; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
* Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
* Must possess and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state in which the employee practices, or must hold a nursing license within a compact eligible state. Proof of licensure and/or compact eligibility must be submitted.
* Must possess a current ACLS and BLS certification.
* Must possess and maintain certification as an Infection Preventionist.
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
* Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
* Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
* Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
* Must be able to respond with patience and understanding during stressful conditions related to patient health and emergent situations.

* Must provide proof of influenza vaccination annually.
* Must complete two (2)-step PPD.
* Must complete all regulatory competencies prior to beginning work in the ASC.
* Must be able to effectively oversee, manage and direct a team of nursing professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study.
* One (1) year of prior experience working in a Pain Management practice.
* One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Driving/Travel:
The employee must have reliable transportation. Travel for this position will be required up to 100%. While the primary workplace may be closest to the employees home, work assignments could be in any of the Companys locations.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Pay Range: $93,600/year - $104,000/year

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Minimum Qualifications:
* Associates Degree in Nursing.
* Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
* Must possess and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state in which the employee practices, or must hold a nursing license within a compact eligible state.Proof of licensure and/or compact eligibility must be submitted.
* Must possess a current ACLS and BLS certification.
* Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service.
* Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public.
* Must be able to work individually as well as within a team.
* Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.

* Must provide proof of influenza vaccination annually.
* Must complete two (2)-step PPD (NE staff) OR must complete an annual PPD (SE staff).
* Must complete all regulatory competencies prior to beginning work in the ASC.

Preferred Qualifications:
* One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse.
* One (1) year of prior experience working in a Pain Management practice.
* One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Driving/Travel:
The employee must have reliable transportation. Travel for this position will be required up to 80%. While the primary workplace may be closest to the employees home, work assignments could be in any of the Companys locations.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Pay Range: $40.00/Hour - $45.00/Hour
* PTO: Up to 96 hours in first year (pro-rated based on start date)
