POSITION OVERVIEW:

BMS/FMS Controls Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1) Serve as the Controls Engineer on assigned projects from pre-sales to final commissioning stage.
2) Create designs which meet or exceed Vertiv quality requirements and fall within budgetary requirements.
3) Design optimal FMS/BMS design in compliance with the customer's requirements and specifications.
4) Work with 3rd party suppliers to design the control schemes for their equipment, utilizing PLCs and/or relays, to accomplish the overall FMS/BMS designs.
5) Generation of bills of material, and modification of standard assemblies as required to satisfy the application.
6) Familiarity with various Ethernet protocols including Modbus, SNMP and TCP/IP communications protocols, as well as RS-485 and Ethernet interfaces.
7) Manage and Support contracted integration companies to provide a detailed Schematic Design(SD), Detail Design(DD) and Construction Drawing(CD) narrative for FMS/BMS design aspects of the solution
8) Collaborate with other disciplines and external partners - General contractors or architects to create a construction document set.
9) Work with Vertiv's business units, Business Partners and preferred vendors to specify the appropriate BMS and controls equipment.

Maintain accurate test logs with test data and track issues for inclusion in lab reports. Follow all applicable safety parameters during all test activity. Keep work area clean and clear of loose debris. Oversee other use testers and temporary workers. The testing of Outdoor Products is primarily done outside, and the testing of Power Tools is primarily done inside.
RESPONSIBILITIES / SKILLS

· Test AC, DC and Gas prototypes, pilot runs, production, and competitors' products by using them to do the jobs they were designed to do
· Remain current on all proper test techniques and procedures
· Use all proper test techniques and procedures in performing functional tests
· Maintain accurate logs of testing performed and results for inclusion in lab reports
· Assist other use testers and temporary workers with setup, operation, and accessory changes as needed
· Working overtime and on the weekends as needed
